I would be motivated to buy the Merit Huey....but only IF it comes with four figures for the two pilots and two door gunners. I already have the 21st Century UH-1 Hog gunship which came with only one pilot.

If the new Huey is a gunship, I hope it's payload #11---2 Miniguns, 2 rocket pods and 2 M60 machine guns.

If it is a UH-1D, I hope it is Bruce Crandall's Slick for which he received the Medal of Honor during the Battle of Ia Drang.

i wonder if this Huey will be a D. Boy that would be terrific. If another B/C i'll pass.

as for the wwii bird, probably a P-51B/C. I hope i'm wrong, as i would prefer something fresher, but that's probably what it will be.

All nice to hear though. Any progress in 1/18 is good progress. And with the Dauntless out this year and it looks like a Komet imminent, things are starting to look up a bit in our world.

AFERGUSON,

There's a ton of 1/18 "D" Mustangs out there, so that may dim the chances of a "B". Maybe it will be a Hurricane.

What ever it is, I hope it comes with a ...............PILOT.

well if it's not a wildcat and it's not a p-51 then i'd say fw-190A or Spitfire IX. But i still think it's the Mustang B/C.

I think you're probably right. The P-51B/C is a smart choice. The opportunity to milk that mold is almost endless with many aces. Though the option to do so, not restricted to an over abundance of 1944 - on bare aluminum schemes.

A Spitfire IX would cover a lot of liveries from Euro schemes, to Mediterranean, and even Pacific theaters. They wouldn't have to change the tropical filter because it looks the same. Many high scoring aces in this aircraft too.

FW-190, same thing many aces, multiple theaters.

Though we've been surprised before, could be something totally unexpected like the Dauntless. It's fun to speculate though.

I'm glad the Huey is being done. I only have one Air America version.
Watch some 21stC Hueys being unloaded for better prices I suspect.
