* Just got the new Pz.IV Ausf. F ... Absolutely no weathering to speak of. The tracks are black and makes it look very toy like. ... What a shame , as this could've been a really cool model. Unfortunately Unimax is far from the good ol' days it once had. "Oh well , time to weather the tracks + some body work".

And agree with you MG-42, it does look kind of toylike.

I haven't bought any FoV for a couple of years now, and these new releases do seem to be "factory fresh", with no weathering. Causing some well founded complaints, which I would agree with.

Without the weathering, they do look cheaper, and those black tracks have to go.

Cost cutting, I am sure, but it is affecting the brand in a negative way.

I completely agree. The Panzer IVF1 was one of their great early toolings, but this looks very toylike, especially when compared to their S1 "Eastern Front 1941" version of the same tank from the mid 2000s. That one had beautiful, museum-quality weathering and looked fantastic. One of my favorite FOV tanks.

Its laughable that the box still says "Enthusiast Edition" as these new vehicles are simply like the Action Grade versions from days gone by. Kind of makes me sick as they cost 2-3 times as much now as the action grade did. Actually, I have some Action Grade vehicles that have more weathering than the new FOV repaints and new toolings.

I'll save my money on this one and not preorder anything until I see a good photo of the actual product first.

Well, I'm only in to them for NEW vehicles; I already have all the staple pieces. The Krupp car is all I'm looking to get at present, so unless they come up with something else original I have no plans to buy more from them unless I pick up cheap older releases on ebay.

Isn't this the same progression that every company has demonstrated. Superb early offerings whose quality goes down as the company matures.

I've seen it in so many companies across a broad range of businesses over several decades.

They keep getting more expensive but there's less weathering, less metal, less extra pieces... Sadly, I will continue to purchase the new innovative vehicles. It's the last bastion of 1/32.

I still want that Krupp truck but not for $70 and with almost no actual diecast in it.

I can get that new 1/32 He219 Uhu kit for less than that (yes, I know I have to build it but still).
