French Farmhouse Raid (Britains, Ultimate Soldier, & Marx)

Post by Karl Dak » Fri Jun 29, 2012 6:36 pm

Hi All:

It's been a little while since I've posted here but I've been slowly getting away from the 1:18 scale military to pursue interests in 1:32. I must admit that the smaller scale is a lot easier to work with, especially with limited space, and the availability and variety of 1:32 items.

I've been slowly creating a tabletop battle with a variety of Marx recasts, Ultimate Soldier, and W. Britains inspired by Marx playsets I had as a kid. Thought I'd share a few B&W shots of the small diorama:

Opel Blitz with Pak 40 (one of my personal favorites)

Last Stand (I really like this one - perhaps it's the angle)

Comments welcome.

I like the b&w photos. Gives it an older look.
Nice job.

Karl, this is an awesome use of Britains Super Deetail toy soldiers!

Takes me right back to my childhood.

It used to be a huge range, but you cant get the mortar teams etc any more... :(

Oh yes, the mortor sets are really nice. It would be awesome to see these still produced (as well as the jeep and Kubelwagen). It's difficult to find any of the older sets at a reasonable price these days.

Here's a few additional shots:
