1/6 Customs

How rare are 1/6 customs? are there many people doing them?? I dont see them very much, is that because there aren't allot of guys who want to work in that scale or not allot of buyers??

There are tons of 1/6 customs and customizers,whole websites with nothing but 1/6.

I finally did my first custom in 1/6, I dont collect the scale but I love the Kettenkrad and was able to pick one up for next to nothing on eBay. I was wondering if it was worth trying to sell it or just keep it...

21st Century, I got it really cheap, MIB still from back in the day, says it was made in 1999. Anyway I did it in the severely weathered whitewash and mud of the early spring of the eastern front, it was only after I got done that I saw that Dragon makes a winter one

but it goes for $200+ on eBay. Ill post pics soon. Thanks

DID makes a Kettengrad to put 21C to shame. Comes in Winter, Cammo, SS Camo and Gray. Metal and working suspension. Best part, fairly cheap, around $100

Try going over to the OSW (OneSixthWarrior.com)....they are about nothing but 1/6th scale custom anything. I have done a few myself. Go here for more....

Complete set of pictures during and after....pain in the rear, but well worth the work. The Cayuse turned out great....and I still have her.

Lots and lots of 1:6 customization - certainly far more than 1:18 and probably along the lines of 1:32, 1:35 and smaller scales. There are lots of people and websites devoted to making custom vehicles, parts, and accessories. A lot of 1:6 vehicles come as kits that allow you to make a vehicle and paint it any way you wish. One of the classic examples is the Armor Hobbies SDK-250 kit; the Dragon Panzer II also came this way.

Many builders/companys have vehicles that you can order and then they custom build - for a price.

I got lucky and scored a 1:6 Hetzer that was a custom job from a small retailer that deals in 1:6 items.

The model is based on the DeSimone Hetzer Kit and was constructed using molded styrene, resin, wood, metal, and plastic accessories. The cammo, weathering, numbers & national insignia are painted on. A lot of the hanging stowage (packs, jerry cans, etc) I added myself, as well as the Dragon tanker figures. DeSimone offered very basic vehicle kits with the goal that builders could customize them as they saw fit. My Hetzer is not completely accurate and doesn't have the side skirts, though the builder added correct wheels and tracks, different from the stock DeSimone kit. Overall, the model looks the part
