Well, until it actually reaches a seller I'm not going to get too freaked out. I guess that Martin fellow had this mold pretty far along before that arrangement went sour.

I estimate it'll occupy a 3' x 3' area on my ceiling. I still have just enough room to do it, even with the He111, Ju88, Beaufighter and Avenger once I have those done. I'm considering redoing the ceiling of my office in a modified coffer ceiling style, but with much smaller beams. The planes will be hung directly from the beams rather than via the criss-cross fishing line web I have secured to the crown molding I use currently. Right now the planes hang too low so I have to be careful where to put them to avoid head-butting them.

Wonder if those models he's holding are Martin's prototypes, or if they are that far along in the process of making them?
I'm not going to get too exited till I see them for sale either. One thing though is there will probably be more of them out there than Wingscale's planned limited run of very few to go around.

I never realized how comparatively wide a B-17's fuselage was like as the pic shows.

I too would like to hang one up with a couple of 21stC German planes attacking it. Guess it's too much to ask to have the landing gear "position-able" so you can have either option of on the ground or in the sky. I can think of many who will do the on the ground display with all kinds of support vehicles, airfield and figures like that diecast 1:32 B-17 in another thread, but I would like to have both options without having to buy two no?

We'll see if HK comes into their own when and if they release the 1:32 Lancaster. Till then it leaves a cloud over their legitimacy because of the sour deal with Martin that many perceive.

I can't get over how frickin' huge the B-17 is.

I also have been waiting for these heavies and will buy every varient, but I don't want to allow myself too excited. Mark my words. The BIG new trend of the next few years is going to be, the BIG HEAVY BOMBERS!! + GROUND CREWS! I have forseen it!! Just like Italeri with their LARGE 1/35 P.T. BOATS, there have been 4 released to date and now other companies are adding to the band wagon with a SOVIET P.T. Boat.

Wow those 2 are awesome. I might need one of each, altho I can hear my bank account and other half grumbling. So far I only collect 1:18 stuff and haven't built a model in 15 years due to nerve damage in my hands but these might be must haves.

There are rumors HK Models is doing research for a B-24.
I sure hope a Halifax comes along at some point too!

No reason not to do one, and since 24 falls between 17 and 25 they're practically required to make one.
