What is the best way to make 1:18 realistic trees?(not pine) I really need them for a diorama.
Thanks,
AJ

make? Dunno.
I bought a couple of schleich Beech trees a while back and they're nice. About 14 inches high, so not huge but decent size. I put a german sniper in one of mine.
I paid $35 each shipped for them from a place in the UK, but i imagine you can get them cheaper in the US.
i never met an airplane i didn't like...

I tried one. It was my FIRST ever attempt, don't laugh that much.

I will make more in the future. I will definitely post how I did it.

That's awesome work! Since I'm making hedgerows, I've decided that I'll just use many backyard sticks packed closely together since they'll be mostly hidden by the foliage I attach to them.

Depending on where you live, nature can provide all you need to make trees, bushes and other various landscaping with very little modification. Just takes some time to pick that just right shape and size.

That's exactly what I did in the photos below. The battle & tank scenes were shot amongst small pine trees around my family's cabin in the local mountains. (A little more clearing of the over-scale pine needles would have helped in retrospect). The USMC figures are actually in a flowerpot that had just the right plants to creat a jungle backdrop.

I had good luck finding jungle type trees in the pet stores, or pet aisle of big box stores. They blend in pretty good, especially if you have the right angle and size of natural veggies around as well. This dio turned out good

........... I've found various size trees @ WAL* MART in their crafts section. Great for both 1:18 & 1:32 .
