CTS German Medical Team

Post by ketelone » Fri Mar 23, 2012 6:16 pm

I have heard about new plastic figures from Classic Toy Soldiers containing German medics. Has anyone seen this set? Has anyone purchased one? They sound like they'd go great with the FOV Opel ambulance after they were painted.

Thanks jkinsel. Since FOV failed to provide any medical figures for the Opel ambulance, this upcoming set due in May will do the job after painting them.

I always talk to the people at "San Diego Toy Soldiers" about the strategy behind choosing their next set to release. It's a VERY EXPENSIVE endeavor, one that can make, or break you. We have debated in depth about the value of the need for a set of "GROUND CREWS" or "GERMAN PARA. Tr. etc. I welcome the release of 4 good medical poses to accompany my Germ. Ambulance........ BUT 16 figures in 8 poses sounds like a battlefield blunder to me.
I'll buy 1 pack, keep the 8 poses and give the rest away to a fellow collector. Also, at least 2 of the poses are stinkers. The guy holding his head with both hands and the solo guy running with a stretcher? Give us a standing Doctor and a Nurse. If only I WAS RICH $$$$$ and making the decisions.

It's still something new and different... How many 'shooting' soldiers' can you have?

It's NOT about shooting poses. It's about using your 8 cavity mold wisely. If they make a weak decision, based on how they approach their subject and the set does not sell well, it can endanger the likelihood of another WWII set. Then we'll really be sorry.
Technically, you can make 2 really good medical sets with 8 poses if thought out properly.
For Example -
STRETCHER BARRIER - can be repeated twice wearing medical throw over smock.
WOUNDED on STRETCHER
WOUNDED on GROUND - reversible, looks good on back or front.
SITTING WOUNDED
SOLDIER HELPING + LIMPING COMRADE
DOCTOR HELPING
NURSE HELPING

Acknowledged. With this set you can make two medical teams. Perhaps one Normandy and one Eastern front or tropical or North Africa. I understand your point but I'm still pleased with something different and especially because it will go with the FOV ambulance. As far as wounded/casualty you can use the Marx casualty and the Conte casualty to increase the number of different wounded.
