1:18 German Hanomag Halftrack question?

Post by spect_spidey » Thu Nov 03, 2005 5:07 pm

Did any of the released 1:18 German Hanomag Halftracks come with a German Paratrooper? I went to a local Walmart today saw a Hanomag. It had the Corporal Wenzel figure in the box and a bazooka. Seemed like a rather odd figure choice to me. Upon further inspection, the box looked like it had been opened before and it appeared that some pieces might be missing so I didn't get it. But I am curious if the particular piece ever came with this figure or if someone swapped out the German Driver?

That is the standard driver in the current offering of the sdkfz 251. The old versions of the 251 did not come with a paratrooper as they were released later on. Hope that helps.

One of these Hanomags would look nice in my collection. Think I'll go out and find one.

I built a nice Tamiya model of this many, many years ago but it's long since gone....

Well I know there at the top of my list for my next armour buy.

I have enough panzers (That`s a lie really you can never have enough,it`s space has said i have enough.....lol) & now want 3-4 Halftracks too. Though this is for after Xmas if i`ve not gotten any for my B`day or Xmas that is ;)

One question though, are all the XD release Halftracks the later straight angled back version?

steelbonnet,
Yes, all the German Halftracks are Ausf D versions. With that said I have been working on a Ausf B that is almost finished. I need to make the boxes on the sides and cast some finders. I think the Halftracks are the best of the ground vehicles so far.

The old versions came with a modified S1 German Infantry figure that had a removable helmet.
