Re: bbi: New F-18C VFA-86 SIDEWINDERS
Well, it´s up for preorder at the german distributor.
They cost us here a little bit more than the recently released Blackhawk so I guess that for you in the US the price will be equal or a bit more as the bbi Blackhawk.....

Hi, what is the preorder price in german?
Re: bbi: New F-18C VFA-86 SIDEWINDERS
I havn´t seen any "official price" from any shop or etailer yet. But they can preorder the models from the german bbi distributor now. And I was told that the preorder price for the shops/etailers is a bit more than the one for the Blackhawk was. So since the bbi Blackhawk is sold to customers for about 160 Euro my guess for the F-18 would be a selling price of about 180 Euro then....

That actually looks pretty nice
Question is whether I get it. I'm still very happy with my S1 "Golden Dragons" version, but this looks snappy with the cammo and all, but without being overdone.

Don't like that camo... Why can't we just get a nice low-viz grey scheme?

Re: bbi: New F-18C VFA-86 SIDEWINDERS
The BBi promo pic doesn't look like it's the actual product to me. (Unless they have made many changes to the existing tooling.)

THe promo pics are of a REAL plane ( look the tail control wich are lightly up + the antennaes behind cokpit + doors of the front landing gear ...)
It was just to show the camo ....
IF i am wrong and that is a real picture of the final product you can count on me for 10 of theses !!!!!

Re: bbi: New F-18C VFA-86 SIDEWINDERS
I thought it was too good to be true (the photo). I was starting to get excited about the new tooling, and what looks like movable horizontal stabilizers. But alas... if it's just a repaint of the original F/A-18C with this scheme, and at the cost they've been selling other re releases, I'm going to pass. LOVE the F/A-18, but I've got three Golden Dragons ($49 error on Toys R Us! Those were the days...) and one Blue Angel already and this scheme doesn't really excite me much.

That's not the real photo of the scaled down jet. The image used was taken from the photo below....

BBI is saying on their Facebook page the landing gear will be made of new stronger material. That is good news.

My wallet will have to be made of stronger material too to survive the hit it's going to take if I buy thisSabrefan wrote:BBI is saying on their Facebook page the landing gear will be made of new stronger material. That is good news.

This makes me regret getting a PTE F-18 at TRU for $20 perhaps 6 years ago. The BBI was only $15 or so more on sale, but it was too big and I thought I would break it by playing with it (The logic of an 11 year old, can't beat it

Not sure that I like the camo scheme on this one. For an "Aggressor" squadron, yes, but not for an operational bird.
If they were going to do VFA-86 Sidewinders, would much prefer a more standard "old school" scheme.

This just in from Badcat....
http://www.talesofthecat.com/journal/20 ... -june.htmlAccording to my sources, this press release came from Asia and the BBI USA office did not know this news was coming and is still trying to get more information. Picture is not of actual product and USA release is not expected until later in the year.
Re: bbi: New F-18C VFA-86 SIDEWINDERS
I really like this scheme
Even with the way prices are now and already having 3 F-18s in my collection, it will be very hard to resist indeed
