i don't want to start a hunger strike or anything like that for a F-4 Phantom,
but i thought if everybody who wanted one could list a good reason why one of the 1/18 companies should make one maybe they would listen

with that said here are some i can think of off hand
2 molds would cover most models
long nose = F-4E,F,G & EJ. ETC
short nose=F-4B,C,D,& J ETC
more countries used then any other allied plane in modern history

I don`t have any aircraft at 1/18th BUT if a 1/18th Phantom & or Harrier AV-8B were made I WOULD buy those.

Twas a sad day when the RAF disbanded it`s last Squadron of F4s

Beautifull aircrafts no matter the version.

Another good reason, you can give it a boatload of different ordinances, and it has a great combat history. The Thunderbirds also flew it for awhile so you have that scheme to use as well. Lets not even talk about the longevity its been there from Vietnam to the Gulf War.

So after I get my A-10 I'll work on a Phantom.

--Flown concurrently by US Air Force, US Navy, US Marine Corps
--Also flown by Germany, United Kingdom, Turkey, Greece, Spain, Egypt, Iran, Israel, Australia, Japan, South Korea

Repaint opportunities abound, for US and abroad.

Pretty much due to whats been said above - this history, the detail possibilities, armament and repaint potential. Also, my dad flew in an F-4 a couple of times when they were used by the California Air National Guard during the 1980s - as he worked for the FAA and was giving check rides to the Guard pilots that requested one. This plane was a favorite of mine when I was younger. In fact the first model plane I built (ultimately launching me into this hobby) was an F-4.

What a great way to pay tribute to this workhorse. What did this plane not do for the U.S. in Vietnam. In my book, the best multirole aircraft that carried U.S. colors.

Plus I think commercials on those channels in general could get BBI's name out there more, ya know?

Coming in a close second behind the Tomcat on my 1:18 wishlist, is the "Phabulous Phantom". Given the proven history of this aircraft and the longevity of it's service around the world, its safe to say that the Phantom has earned the right to be honored in a way that only we in the 1:18 collecting community can do?

The repaints possibilities are endless, and with the future release of a Mig-15, what better to have compliment it than the F-4?

again...keeping my fingers crossed.

FOR $1800.00 plus $250.00 s&h you can have
one of those nice models in europe
in USA i think s&h is $500.00. hph also makes a Bf-109G-6 kit that i saw in a catalog for$400.00 on sale.

An F-4 does make sense since it has seen such widespread use over the years and what a workhorse. After the A-10 I could get excited about an F-4, especially if they did foreign versions.

The HPH F-4 is around 3300 Euro plus shipping (which is around 500 Euro).

It's nice though..

Although I'm partial to Navy/Marine, I do think Robin Olds could fall into the 21 Century 'legends' category with 12 kills in WWII in P-38s and P-51s and 4 in Vietnam in the almighty Phantom.

There's a lot of talk lately about the possibility of a 1:18 F-86 & MiG 15 combo which will be great. How about throwing a F-4 into the mix along with the MiG-15 for a Vietnam version of a MiG dio?

how about a Mig-21
Revell did in the "70s" and "80s" in 1/48 and 1/32 scales
had F-4E and Mig-21s in same box
they are now collector items.
i see them on Ebay bringing big bucks
