1/6 DML Sherman
DML has shipped the new Sherman. To be at the drop shipper by week end.
2012 is starting off great. O happy days, O happy days (picture big ole guy jumping up and down, clapping his hands....... ).... Go ahead, picture it...
A few of us, in the Dark Side, have got the same heads up, whoever gets theirs first, I am sure will post pics.

I didn't know there was a kit, how much do those run?

Re: 1/6 DML Sherman
At this point in time, there is no Sherman kit. As DML has followed up all there big 1/6 stuff with a kit, we expect a Sherman kit to follow, but as of now, no kit is on the horizon. We expect DML to sell out the pre built Shermies way before a kit is offered.
As to price, now that the Sherman is almost here, I find a couple of etailers offering prices of $699 to $750. The dealer offering the Sherman at $699 is adding ridiculous shipping chargefrom China. The dealer offering $750 is including shipping.
As is usual pre ordering will save those that went that route will save considerable money.
Same as the PanzerII. And where is the PanzerII now? Anybody seen them available at a decent price??

Re: 1/6 DML Sherman
Me too, for arrival on Wednesday.
There is also a thread on SAG showing how the front hatches can be fairly easily popped up. They are spot glued just like the Panzer II viewslots and can be used open. Just need hinges and interior periscopes, already on the market.

I found a webstore called Gung Ho Toys that is listing these at 599.99 plus free shipping. I sent them an email to see of I can still order at that price. Will let you guys know who want to save a buck or two.

Re: 1/6 DML Sherman
A very good option is AMERICAN_GRENADIER, he has two more for $625 shipped. Good price, great guy to deal with and one of "our own members". Check it out in BST.
The hatch problem is shown at SAG:
http://www.sixtharmygroup.com/forums/ge ... oblem.html
Check it out if you can read it. These tanks are reaching 1/6ers all over, now.

Re: 1/6 DML Sherman
CW4 - Do you have a link for Gung Ho? Can't find it. Always interested in 1/6 sites. Some of us here bought this 1/6 Sherman for a better price as a pre-order. Maybe not much with shipping including, but a better price.
DEREK - There are metal treads available for 1/6 Shermans from "Eastcoast Armory. Expensive but they exist. The site offering a set esn't list a price, you have to e mail them and I guess, be sitting down, when they tell you how much.
No matter what you want to do with a 1/6 Sherman, parts (resin & metal) are available from etailers making parts. It all depends on your wallet and how deep it is.

Re: 1/6 DML Sherman
http://www.eastcoastarmory.com has tracks for the Sherman priced at 300.00 to 400.00 a set , unless your planning on trying to convert one to R/C I can't see spending the money, I think the tracks that come on it will suit me fine
gunghotoys.com has some good prices, but AG has always gave me a price no one else can beat and hes a member here, I found if your looking for something just pm him usually he has what I'm looking for.

Here you go. I hadnt seen them before but found them when I was googling a better price on the Sherman. It shows 599 but when I emailed them, they replied that they are selling for 579 and I also saw them today on ebay as a seller (Gung Ho) for 579.99.
Wasnt going to pay 700 so had been on the fence, but for this price, i gotta get one

Re: 1/6 DML Sherman
Eastcoastarmory has Sherman resin tracks for $300 and $400 and the metal tracks are further down the page with no price. Too scary for most people.

Re: 1/6 DML Sherman
Maybe not on that site, but metal 1/6 tracks are available for the Tigers. With the weight of these monsters, plastic treads simply would not hold up, forget about resin especially when the model is metal.
The 21C static Stuart has some very realistic treads, all you would ask for, whatever the material, not like the RC model.

That looks like a easy and quick fix , I think I have a extra .50 cal mount from my SAS jeep build, so that may take care of that problem too
