WWII aircraft recoveries in Italy

Post by vulgarvulture » Fri Sep 16, 2005 9:38 am

I thought this site was interesting, even though it's in Italian. These guys are really dedicated to the task of unearthing WWII aircraft (and airmen) remains.

Interesting how deep they have to dig to get to the wrecks.

Italian air finders

Pretty neat site! Thanks for sharing. It is bittersweet to see that these pilots and aircraft are being found after so long. Hopefully some family is still around to learn the fate of their lost ancestor.

BTW, I used this site to translate some of the Italian:

Great that they found these pilots and I hope those engines find their way into someones restoration project. :D
