If that's true, you should be buying all you can get your hands on and going into business. You could make a lot of money. Sounds almost like some "Seven Cities of Gold" myth, though . . .derek_001 wrote:The Toys R Us in OKC Oklahoma is still stocked with almost all the 1/32 1/18th XD models and more every time i go up there i buy 1 or 2 i dont have i just got the flying tigers P-40 1/18th XD from there

Yep, I can believe it...Over here we've got one of those stores in every city. There's even one that only sells 1/18 Spitfires. Wall to wall they are, in fact you have to climb over them to get in the door. - And they have a 'buy one get one free' sale every Friday between 6 and 7 in the evening, I've bought that many I've had to rent a hanger just to keep them in.
BTW What's the other half of this amazing store full of?? I think I can guess...

Actually, just last year. TRU in Sugar Land, TX had a bunch of .50 anti-aircraft trailers. Once in a while I'll see some WWII German or Vietnam figure blister packages with Power Team figures inside the re-glued bubbles.

If there is indeed some mythical repository of XD as you describe, I, for one, would contribute to underwriting an expedition to acquire these valuable artifacts from an earlier age. I think, perhaps, a floppy, oversized fedora and a coiled whip might be in order as outfitting for this undertaking.derek_001 wrote:no problem i should be back up there before christmas ill have pictures up by january
Re: What's the last 21st XD you saw at retail?
I Remember seeing them stacked about 8 high along the back shelves at some of the small town Wally's here. Would always fill the truck up when I saw them marked down to $25.00 or less. On a trip thru Brady, TX once, I counted 21 Atlantic avengers stacked up. Couple months later on my drive thru I decided to stop and they had all the remaining boxes marked down to $15.00. I thought you can't beat that deal, but why the heck did Wally stock so many in such a small town! Those type days were the downfall, but they sure were good while they lasted. Now you don't run across them anywhere in the retail world that I have been in quite a long while.

Those Avengers were out in 2006 and I'm still mad at Wal Mart's crappy distributionDropTank wrote: I thought you can't beat that deal, but why the heck did Wally stock so many in such a small town! I never understood the Wal Mart logic. For example, I found a pallet load of Halftracks and Pak-40s at a rural Wal Mart near my area, but they never sold and never made it to my town where they would have sold. They got discounted cheap, I picked up a few more, and I don't know what ever happened to the rest...
Wal Mart both saved 21c and killed it.

All of the WMs, TRUs, and even the Targets in Ky, will make XD stuff for customers. You walk in, tell them what you want, and their crack sculpters bust a bad boy KT out in 15 mins, flat.
