There's a listing of the tanks at the link below as well as some information provided by the manufacturer. At least for the tanks, they are not new toolings.

Re: new 1/72 IST/Odin diecast models
So this is yet ANOTHER name for Altaya/IXO/Warmaster/Blitz72/?
Re: new 1/72 IST/Odin diecast models
Essentially yes. The manufacturer says the quality and attention to detail will be consistent with IXO, but they are the same toolings originally used for Altaya/DeAgostini. They're all made in the same factory.EnemyAce wrote:So this is yet ANOTHER name for Altaya/IXO/Warmaster/Blitz72/?
Re: new 1/72 IST/Odin diecast models
Very *yawn* exciting. When is somebody going to dust off the old CDC/Matchbox molds already?
Re: new 1/72 IST/Odin diecast models
The old Matchbox toolings, such as the P-38, F4U, F6F and P-40E, for example, still stand up quite well today. I'd be delighted to see some more P-38 schemes, hopefully without those rocket trees, if someone would release models based on the Matchbox molds. I'm not so sure I can say the same about the CDC Armour renditions, however.

CDC had some nice tank models that never made the transition to Matchbox, such as the late Pz IV J w/mesh schurzen.
Re: new 1/72 IST/Odin diecast models
I have a few CDC Armour Pz Mk IVs and Vs, which aren't bad in terms of detail but fall down, in my opinion, in terms of paint jobs and markings. They also had an unfortunate tendency to have drooping canons which wouldn't stay upright.EnemyAce wrote:Epap wrote:The old Matchbox toolings, such as the P-38, F4U, F6F and P-40E, for example, still stand up quite well today. Re: new 1/72 IST/Odin diecast models
For the tanks, as you, i have doubts about quality... maybe originals schemes to come !
About planes, the link on motorpool shows planes already sold in france by Altaya.
I bought some stuff, but quality is really poor in comparison with Hobbymaster and cie...
You can see the products listed and already sold :
http://www.altaya.fr/coleccionable/avio ... ction.html
I bought french planes (rafale, super etendard, mirage III, mirage 2000) and an Israeli Kfir with good scheme... but others items are very ugly (F14, F18, Su-35, Mig-31...).
Some are nice, like the italian tornado, F-15, A-10 and the last F-16B.
Early january, a Su-25 will be sold... with russian scheme, i hope it will be nice, i love this Frogfoot !
Below the entire list which will be sold and some items are interesting for me :

I saw this collection too and of course i bought the mirage III & mirage 2000 ! theses are not bad i took the mig 31 too ! awesome with my SU 27 / russian jet collection !
These are highly unusal planes (never seen in 1/72 so far !)
quality is medium / low but since it's a vast choice you should have a look ....

Indeed, the french planes are not too bad !
As usual, Altaya make original planes and never seen with thee others brands... but, for me, i prefer not to buy some models because are really too ugly !

Re: new 1/72 IST/Odin diecast models
I have the Altaya Mig-31, among others, and must say that it's not at all bad, the main issue being with misplaced supports on the main landing gear that you can't really see when it is posed "wheels-down". The all-gray scheme makes the model look rather dull but a little weathering---in this case, a light brownish-black wash-----highlights the panel lines and improves the look of the model considerably.

Re: new 1/72 IST/Odin diecast models
I could see on Jumbliesmodels website another pics of odin planes and they are differents from those seen on motorpool :
Jumblies :

Motorpool :

The F-4 sold by altaya in france is the same of motorpool... and it's the same of the first F-4 from Hobby Master.
it's the same thing with the french Mirage III and the F-100.
@ Epap, indeed, with make up, the mig-31 seems to be "sexy"

Re: new 1/72 IST/Odin diecast models
This is why I do not list items on our store untill I have high quality pictures.
I hate the "artist's impression" pictures other stores throw up months before release, how can a customer make an informed choice from this?!
I was a little worried about the quality of this range, but am quite happy after looking at the MiG-31.
