Cute A-10 shown...and REAL A-10????
Check the chunky weebles Target A-10 and then...is that a prototype of a real 1/18 A-10 hanging up?

Yeah you gotta love the pictures they took: almost gynecological intensity on covering the myriad Mustang repaints...and then a couple of over the shoulder candids of the freaking Hellcat prototype.
Didn't see any photo restriction signs at the display so the 007 spy shots excuse doesn't wash.
Anyway that Hellcat if it comes out will be quite a prize.

The Hellcat looks good but that "prototype A-10" hanging in the back is fugly beyond belief. It needs to be completely scrapped and rebuilt to even be worthy of being called an A-10. Perhaps it is just a really poorly done custom using the mini-fatboy-A-10.

Or the RAE-RAM-GMLS-ISEA-NSWC-PHD
How's that for a job title?

The A-10 looks like something someone built themselves, maybe an ARF (The Almost Ready to Fly foam glider). Its about that size I think. Just a guess. But the Hellcat is great I can't wait to see more of it.

A little song, A little dance, A little seltzer down your pants!~~~Chuckles the Clown.
Mike is currently at that show. Hopefully he'll have some news for us/clarifications when he gets back around the 29th.
That is probably the same Hellcat prototype that was rumoured a couple of years ago but never seen. As there are no pictures of it in a box, like the Zero, Mustang etc, i wouldn't get too, too excited about it just yet. But it does look like a possibility.
As for the A-10....the two pictures mentioned above are of different planes, the hanging one is definitely not the chubby one. That said i'm not sure that the hanging one represents a prototype 1/18 one either. In fact, i'm not sure exactly what it is. Maybe Mike can shed some light on this in a few days... It could be the GWS foam flyer done as a quick custom for the show. But whether that means they intend to make one is another question.
I wouldn't start eating yet..

Don't go Spastic just yet
I agree; hence the lack of overenthusiasm in my posts. It's a sign that at some point someone was thinking about making one enough to make a prototype, but the fact that it isn't sitting on its own gear is a clear sign that it's not all there. I think it shows that they would like to make a 1/18 scale Hellcat and a non-goofy 1/18 scale A-10, not that they are.

Yeah I can see the scepticism, but the very idea of showing it gives me some serious goose bumps!! They wouldn't show it before now, like their P-47, but they did here........ Remember, bbi isn't what you would call, predictable. So, where was I? oh.........
Man, a Hellcat! How cool is that!!!!!! WAAYYYY COOOLL!!!! I MUST HAVE IT!!!!!

ps. Big thanks to Spastic for the heads up!

Hellcat
The Hellcat looks pretty good, but it must be pretty much a pre-production version needing a bit more detail work. It depicts a F6F from CV-9 Hornet. If it has the same quality as the Corsair and the Zero, it'll be a winner!
BUT, IMHO, the fact that they are showing it is a good sign! (let's hope)
Looks like my deck space is gonna get crowded!

I remember reading on a website that this toy fair is for vendors only. A toy fair for vendors to visit with the toy companies attending to see what they are going to offer in the future year since some vendors have to plan their orders way in advance of production runs. Can anybody confirm this? This might explain why the Hellcat dosen't look complete and why the 1/18 looking A-10 is so rough looking, they are just to show vendors what they are working on for future releases.
Found the website....it's from figures.com....duh..

This is not totally accurate, but did you guys notice that the black hornet displayed with gear down, has the yellow tips and liveries of VFA-103? This is a NICE touch! IT may not be fully accurate(VFA-103 has the F/A-18F super bug, they never flew the legacy, and plus this is a 1 seater F/A-18C legacy hornet), but its really cool!
I wonder if this is the black one mike promised we would get one way or another before x mas.

The new releases just don't stop, do they? A Hellcat will be very cool! It is one of the "great" planes of WWII and the one with the highest kill ratio. A perfect counterpart for the Zero and the Corsair - and yet another plane 21c hasn't given intentions of doing yet. Ah well, they have the Avenger... Thats probably one more plane I'll need to get - along with a new house to display them all
