Post by dragon53 » Thu Nov 03, 2011 11:14 pm

Here are my suggestions for future Merit 1/16 tanks and armor:

1. M551 Sheridan (Desert Storm)
2. M36 Jackson tank destroyer, 103rd TDB, 82nd Airborne (Battle of the Bulge)
3. Jagdtiger

btw, the current Merit 1/16 tanks are WSN models without the r/c gear. So your wish list should just be other 1/16 r/c tanks that could be made in static form. Probably by Trumpeter, as that's where Merit seems to be getting their current tanks and 1/350 Hornet from.

AFERGUSON:

Thanks for clarifying that...it was too good to be true.
I just got an FOV 1/16 Peiper King Tiger a few weeks ago and paid big bucks for it, so since Merit is selling unpowered Trumpeter tanks, I think I'll sit this one out.

Yea, do 1/18! Forget 1/16. :|

Normandy: since you bought the 1/16 Elefant, why not get a 1/16 King Tiger too? There are 2 nice ones around; porsche turret and regular turret. Both for less than you paid for the Elefant kit. You'll even be able to get a Jagdtiger soon.

Well I have a 1:16 King Tiger, Its a Tamiya Porsche turret static kit I built years ago. It must be 15 plus years old and back then cost around $400. No 1:18 armor at Toys R Us prices in those days.
I must say there are some great 1:16 kits and pre-built models at fantastic prices.

The 1:16 Elefant was to go to pass up. The 1:18 card stock custom You made of it was very cool and I would have made one, just didn't know what to do about the tracks. I wanted them to move.
Image Nice job Andrew!

As for 21's /AllGo's King Tiger, I'm still hopeful. Someone has them in their possession, a legal limbo............... :|

I never saw this custom elephant tank. Has there been a poll with pictures of this tank build up? I think it looks pretty decent for display. I don't know maybe it's just me but,it looks like 1/16.Am i wrong?

Captain Picard laughing after he's knifed through the back by the Naussican, but it's also Picard in his flashback/"Fixing mistakes" moment from a great TNG episode...

Wow.

i built that elefant a few years ago now. My second card model. I was pretty happy with the way it turned out but many of the details are fudged a bit. It's exactly 1/18 though. No, there was a build log for it.

The picard is a custom i made from an Ertl star trek scottie and a hamilton pvc picard. It's from the episode Tapestry, one of my fave's.
