Review: FOV 1/32 hanomag halftrack 251 81010

I just recieved this piece still in box, and it looks excellent. The vehicle is weathered perefectly, so that the mud is confined to the sides, front and back of the vehicle. There are also four soldiers included. One machine gunner for the MG 34, one soldier firing his MP 40 in the halftrack, one soldier hanging onto the sides and one soldier on the ground throwing a grenade. This item also includes A LOT OF ACCESSORIES, when compared to the newer FOV items. There are plenty of spare helmets, mines, k 98 rifles, MP 40, panzershrek, panzerfausts, grenades, and ammo boxes. For the vehicle, there is one large sleeping bag, one medium and one small, one backpack, one piece of a track, radio antenna, wires, axe, 1 MG34, and 1 MG42. There is also 2 wooden obstacles and 2 wall sections. This is a very nice piece, and the winter effects are nicely done, both on the vehicle and the soldiers' uniform.

There are complaints, however, when I compared dragon's can.do 1/35 winter figures to FOV's figures, the color of their skin is very dark. They look like they have been sun tanned.

Overall, this was well worth the wait. I ordered this from a Hong Kong model shop and it arrived here in a week. I would highly reccomend this piece and the 1/35 winter combat can.do figures from dragon as well. I also tried to add dragon's can.do kharkov grenadiers as well, but they didn't fit in as well.

Nevertheless, I highly reccomend this piece!!

I was unpacking this when I found the description that FOV gave. It stated that his vehicle was in kursk in 1943. Although the D series was in production from early 1943, I doubt that it was in the kursk area in the winter of 1943, considering that the germans lost the battle of kursk back in August of 1943. The base plate of the hanomag also adds that it was part of the 7th panzer division, which did fight in the USSR in Feb. of 1943, but probably near to Kharkov. I may be wrong , but I just don't think the description is correct.
