Short Sleeve Vietnam Soldiers
On the back of the card of the Platoon figures are pictures of the characters wearing short sleeve shirts. Were these ever released?

Re: Short Sleeve Vietnam Soldiers
Yes, but not as part of the Platoon line, and not with the headsculpts of Charlie Sheen, Johnnie Depp, etc..
The figures pictured on the back of the Platoon card are a bit inaccurate to the final product and are merely the Platoon figure headsculpts popped onto the bodies of the S1 XD Vietnam Tanker & Mutt Driver figures.
The Tanker & Mutt Driver figures are actually pretty cool and quite useful for driver and soldier figures. They were sculpted to have an open vests and the figures were shirtless underneath. Both had bandanas & dogtags and the tanker had a Peace charm and sidearm strapped to his chest. The Tanker originally came with the XD S1 M-48 in 2001 and later with the S1 M2 Bradley (woodland cammo). The Mutt Driver with both the M151 Mutt vehicles (the one with the M60 and the one with the TOW missile launcher) with the original Vietnam line at TRU in 2001. They were then sold as singles as 21c fanclub exclusives. The single tanker differed from the original in that the helmet was removable. In 2007, 21c was trying to get rid of excess stock and sold them for like a $1 a piece and we picked up a ton of them... Good times
