i
HI i got it at a local hobby shop in town (Las Vegas) for 267.00 or so, i have always wanted and liked the B-25 of all the WW2 bombers and so i bought it thinking i could detail it up some to suit my needs, i have maybe 12, 1/18 war birds and did not have a bomber as they do not make one in that size, detailing it turned into a little more work then i thought but it came out so far ok, still have work to do and i will do it as i get the time, going to add panel lines when i get to the air museum at Hill AFB and take some pic of a real B25, I still need to work on the landing gear some, would like to add rivets on the aircraft where they need to go, fuel caps top of wing , exhaust and oil marks where needed, just a lot of little things before I’m done with it, and will I fly it? May some day if I get all the servos and all the other things needed before flight, ill list all the things I have done to this bird to get it where its at now in a later post and some pictures of this bomber next to my 1/18 fighters, Carlos

A question -- which may have been answered in other discussions of this model: How scale accurate is it in size and over-all contours?

The B 25 has a wing span of 67 feet 6 inch and this model has a wing span of 62 inches so if you take 67 x 12 + 6 you get 810 you devide that by 62 and you get 13.6 almost 14 of you see this airplane is not 1/18 im thiniking to get a 1/18 B25 the wing span would have to be 45 inch, i used 1/18 pilots from my fighters for the pilot ,co-pilot, front gunner, and tail gunner and they look fine a little small but to tell you the truth i like them, the main gear was just a wire and they pointed in not out so i had to change that and the original pilot and gunners were just big heads as you see in this pic of the box ImageImageImageImage

yes this b-25 is a bit bigger in scale than 1/18....your calculations look correct at about 1/14 but the pilots look right at home there.

Anyone wanting a b-25 closer to 1/18 should look at the Flying Styro one. It's about 1/17 and has a 48 inch wingspan.

Great looking model dcmacharlie, really nice work.

Thank you!! nice of you to say, i try !!and it looks good on top of the lamp untill i use some fishing line to hang it from the cealing, and there are a few things i need to do before i do that, i was going to get the Hobby Lobby one but really did not like the foam look to it,hobby Lobby does not sell it anymore but i may be wrong, who knows maby ill get one someday, i have seen some on here from some other members and they look real nice , may have to get one and work on it carlos

I agree, the 1/18th scale pilots look pretty close...Certainly better than the pilot "heads" pictured on the box.
By the way, the plane looks fantastic...Congratulations!

Thank you all for your nice comments, i have a few more things to do to get her to the point that ill stop messing with it, and find a permanent place to show her off and to decide if ill try to put her in the air. I have looked at the foam B-17 that some have mentioned and I may try and pick it up, detail it, and add it along side my B-25, what a combo, time will tell, BTW ill try and post some pic setting on the runway (driveway) with some of my 1/18 WW2 war birds for a comparison of size and just cause.
