I can't cast right now. :(
No money. If you buy my casting stuff I will send you a few rudders and extensions!
I have never actually cast in resin before. this would probably be a good start. It is basic. :)

I have the rudder and the top piece.

The rudder looks fine but I need to slightly reshape the extension.

Jnewboy wrote:Thanks, However the fuselage cross is correct, starting two panel lines away from the band and stretching to the band. It would have been nice to alter the canopy in order to open correctly however I was worried about damaging it and decided to not cut the glass for that detail, with the canopy shut it looks correct. I value your opinion and am happy to hear it. Thanks
Ok, got back from out of town and I think I figured out what is off. The cross is correct in that it touches the edge of the No.3 panel, but the No.3 panel is way too wide. The panels one past the cockpit should be the same width to the tail. Also, the location of the theater band. which although can be correct, throws the look off.
see the attached tech drawing:

Also, in reference to the G-6/G-14 Flyboy is making, the tail is called a "tall tail" for a reason. Not only was it made of wood, but it was also noticably taller than a standard 109 tail.

Yea. It is about 4-5mm taller. It SHOULD be 7mm taller but I goofed a tad. :P Still might try to make it a little taller. :P

THe difference is 5 mm when it should be 7mm... Oh well, 2mm is not that bad. LOL

This pick the tail was just slid in. It fits a little bit tighter then it looks. ;)

This is not a great pic but you can sorta see the difference. The tall tail is 4/5mm taller.
Not entirely noticeable but it is.

I understand what you are saying but I cant alter the BBi panel lines, and they are very close to correct.
Mad Sam wrote:Personally I generally prefer the Battle of Britain or late war defence of the Reich schemes on German fighters, but against that, I've got to say this is a really nice looking scheme which you have done full justice to, and I think its turned out as one of your best works. (well that's my opinion)

I also think you did the right thing by swapping out the canopy, at the very least it's given you one of the easy distinguishers between F and early G

All the best

Sam
Thanks, this F model was not easy but I really thought it needed to be made. The F model was really the hay day of the 109. If it had been in service during the Battle of Britain with drop tanks the free world may not exist! Thanks Sam

I agree that you can't alter the pnel lines, and that is the problem. You did it right, but BBI got it wrong and it shows now that it is right. I still think it is a nicely done scheme and I look forward to seeing your next project.

That said I think the BBi 109 is many times better than the 21st Century's. I hope in the future they will make a late war 109. A G-14 or even a K would be cool!
