First attempt at posting project pics

Post by greendevil41 » Mon Sep 12, 2011 10:15 pm

Hi,
New member with pics (hopefully) of a refurbed 1/18 airplane that was pretty basic when I first got it. This is a much modified 21st Century BF-109E that was flown by Joachim Muncheberg. The original model was very toy like. I updated it to a F model with the pointed spinner. All the cockpit mods were done with the plane still assembled and it was continually updated as new pics came to light. The canopy was a two piece mess that I extensively re-worked. If you look at the pics, I had to go back and change the framing at least twice and re-paint the cockpit interior RLM 66 instead of the RLM 02 shown in the early photos. Drop tank, wheels, dropped radiator flaps, rudder control cables and more stuff I can't remember. There is a lot of conjecture about the actual camo colors but most believe it wore the original continental colors rather then the later two tone gray "Mediterranean" scheme the plane was originally painted in. Decals by Lair and Marv Gilbert really transformed it.

Hopefully this link will work:

You can also copy and paste the "img" code bud to get this................

Hi, welcome.
Looks fantastic. Beautiful job on the cockpit area and details. Looking at it and being detail oriented myself I can appreciate all the work you have put into it, transforming it from toy to model.

I tried the up-size mode. No luck. What did you do to post that pic direct?

On your photobucket page, if you mouse over the area under your pictures you will see a box below it. Click in the area that says Image Code, then you just paste in the text box here. Then click preview to see how it will look before submitting it.
Hope that helps.

I screwed up the album in photobucket by trying to delete an unrelated pic. Now I can't view or post pics from the albums. :(

Great job. The cockpit detail is very good. Do you have any closer images of the cockpit?

I do have other pics taken before I repainted the cockpit. I'm waiting to hear back from Photobucket tech support. I'm guessing that when I tried to delete the one pic, I inadvertently activated a privacy feature that prevents viewing of any pics or albums. :?:
If they can't fix it, I'll open another account using the youtube instructional link provided by Flyboy (Thanks...wish I had that to start with!) I'm getting the basics down pretty quick thanks to all the help here.
