An Altaya F5A Gets Retanned

Post by Epap » Tue Sep 13, 2011 7:15 am

The new Altaya 1:72nd scale jet fighter series included a South VietNam F5A Freedom Fighter but, as often happens on such models, got some of the colors wrong. As shown in the following picture, they used a brown rather than the correct tan and the apple green was also off:Image

I didn't plan to devote too much time to my redo of this model, so I started by replacing the brown with a tan color and slightly modifying the scheme. After I did this, the apple green didn't look so bad, so I modified it here and there, added a pilot and some weathering and now have an acceptable rendition of this particular aircraft:Image
