Quad .50s in Vietnam

Hadn't realized they were used there. I wonder if it would be distorting reality too much to use 21C Quad .50 trailer with my other 21C Vietnam pieces. I like to add anything I can get away with. Does TTT or anyone else have a take on this?

Probably should have put this in the Off Topic section. Sorry, Andrew!

The quad .50's were used almost exclusively on 2 1/2 trucks as convoy protection on gun trucks. The exceptions were those air lifted to fortified hilltops and used sitting on the ground.

I have never seen the M-17 trailer used in VN. I'm not saying they were not used, I'm just saying I've never seen pics of the big trailer in VN.

Found pics of truck mounted and ground mounts.

Scan down to the quads. One pic shows a quad on that little wheels (same as WW2) but another just shows quad sitting on the ground, so there you go for a quad dio.

My daddy drove deuce and a halfs in Nam. I'll have to ask him if he saw or drove ones with quad guns the next time I see him. I know he normally drove food, ammo, or fuel to the front lines from the rear and he was a constant target, still having those traumatic nitemares to this day.

If your Dad drove in a gun truck, they all had names and should remember his truck. References are around about gun trucks and their armament. Even if he didn't serve in a gun truck he should remember the names of any gun trucks operating with him.

Gun trucks are hard to forget.
