Panzer suspension

Post by khatean » Mon Oct 17, 2005 7:02 am

I picked up one of the RC panzers at the Chino Hills Walmart. I don't know why some post indicate independent suspension because the road wheel boggies do not articulate. The axels are fixed in place as they were molded that way.

Did someone around here say that? I don't remember that assertion.

Finally took care of the turret problem (at least, in my opinion). If you don't like the "bouncing turret", the three screws underneath take off the top portion with the turrent. I just took out the spring on the muzzle, and its still tight enough that you can move it up and down to where you want it. I thought I was going to have to glue it in one position.

It has potential. It's a dragster though, and if you spin it it becomes a blur.
My 4 year old boy loves it. It's still a good price at $50. I haven't cracked it open yet but I'd really like see how they quieted the turrent motor. It's nothing compared to the loud WSN T-34. The gun mod, as suggested, is a must because it is very anoying. I'll be looking forward to posts on how others made modifications.

One thing I was wondering on this - I recall 21C had mentioned a month or so back an armor surprise before the end of the year. Are these two tanks it? Or is there something else showing up?

Also, I'd love to hear if we are getting another RC tank. Wishful thinking, but I'd love to see a T-34. Since they don't shoot anything, you could at least recreate the Battle of Kursk and have the tanks ram each other. Da#$ that would be cool!

We had a tank club meet yesterday, and one of our members brought his newly completed US halftrack along; here's some pics. The problem if 21st century RC'd this; and any other hobbyist conversions I have seen on the net is that the electronics take up a lot of space and need to be exposed on the open deck and covered with something like a tarpaulin.
But this has the best of both worlds, pics here

The R/C Pz IV's gorgeous! Any news if they'll release 1 with a 3 color camo or ambush scheme & sideskirts?

I also recall seeing pics of a tri-color camo XD Pz IV. Can anyone post a link to 'em & what's their estimated ETA to online retailers? TIA

Rgds.

Saw it tonight but didn't have the scratch to lay down on it till next month... Then I'm in on laying one away maybe... It's pricey, but it is indeed neat looking. Only one of each out here unfortunately, but I'm hoping htey're still there once I get back to the store.
