Well, having seen the pictures on ebay of the new German figures, I must say they are pretty nice. I like that new Tanker and could use about 5 for my grey Tiger I. However, I'm skeptical about seeing these in my AO. The Wal Marts around here never got the BoB figures and vehicles, save for the Winter Tiger. Just have to wait and see...

I bought 6 "new" figures yesterday in my AO, W-M. 1-"Closed" and 2-"Open" coats. Plus 2-U.S.Tankers and 1-U.S.Infantryman w/"winter-camo" helmet. I've yet to see any "new" kraut tankers which I really want too.

That one figure is not black. It's a dark green/grey. You can see the difference on the belt and boots with that picture on ebay. I could see where someone would say it is black though. I can't answer your question aferguson, because I don't know anything about the unforms. Maybe someone else can answer it with this new information. I wonder if we will see any of the other repaints of the German Tankers that were shown a while back?

the dark grey/green is supposed to be field grey. Too dark looking in the picture but may not look so bad in person. Well, at least 21c didn't goof.

So does the figure have the Green Splinter Camo after all?

I missed this new sticky thread so I'm just gonna copy/paste my post...

I got my first Japanese figures tonight from a buddy of mine. What can I say but in-frickin'-credible figures! Short of removable hats on the guys with soft headwear, and some less "posed" facesculpts, I'm pleased as punch with these. They're even better than the Marines that I was geeked over so that's great.

Now if my area would only actually GET these figures in so I didn't have to rely on helpful frineds out of state, or if they'd get any of all the other things i need like Battle of the Bulge (and variants), trucks and whatnot, then I'd be set. So far we're stocked up on green Marines for a LONG time I do believe, haha.

And we still have some stores with absolutely no XD product at all save for the same dusty old planes and choppers they've had for over a year now (going on 2 or more I think?). Sad.

These have been at Walmart for a few months. Small retailers are also saying another shipment due at month's end.

Does anyone have a case breakdown on the BoB repaints. Do they mix the green/fall camo tankers? Just wondering how crazy I'm going to drive myself looking for the autumn tankers.

WM in Utica NY today had a nice mix of BOB and S2 Marines. Picked up an additional one each of the brown camo and the green German tankers.

Everyone I have come across is one of each, autumn tanker and gray.

Finally found one each of the new BoB figures, including the Autum & Green Tankers and the Open-coat German soldier with the black helmet. They also had one each of the US figures as well - and all in the store that traditionally hasn't recieved XD!!

Anyone able to post pictures of the BotB repaints? I'm needing to know what I should ask for help on from friends who actually get figures at their stores frequently as opposed to my AO where you get Marines and that's it! :)

The Japanese are fantastic figures... Can't wait to get the full set and start maybe (hopefully) finding some extras to start army building a bit.

new guys

Post by digger » Fri Oct 14, 2005 7:03 am

JJ, the new BotB figs are on the green cardbacks like the USMC. The US guys are the same and the German Infantry only differ (that I can tell) in the color of their helmet - grey. I wish they packed half the case as open coat German Infantry so you could shed the coat and have regulars with removable helmets - but that's something else....

Anyway, you can see the occassional pic on ebay, but if you know the figs and are familiar with the green cardback you can find them. If you are giving a description to other collectors they should have no problem.

While we're on the topic, I have seen at least 3 posts where people say the "green" German tanker. :? Is he not grey?

german tankers

Post by markecho » Fri Oct 14, 2005 8:05 am

hey all,
found the new BOB figs in southern Cali walmarts also.
i picked up the tankers (which I also found 1 of each per case it looks like) and snapped a shot for color ref. the green tanker is not very grey...more close to the panther green:
Image

so can anyone tell me which tank paint schemes these dudes go with? and wasn't the camo tanker supposed to be pea-dot pattern? (forgive my WWII detail oriented ignorance ;)

also I have asked this before and haven't found anyone with the answer...does anyone know the difference between the two type of tanker hats? the commander hat and "flight cap" looking hat? because i've seen some tiger ace pictures with commanders wearing the "flight cap". OR am i to assume that the commander hat is for the commander and the "flight cap" is for crew?
It is the dang toy companies that have sometimes made me want to stop collecting toys!!!

he shouldn't be grey.....he should be FIELD grey which is a very green grey.....looks more green than grey. The one in the pic looks good but a bit dark, otherwise colour is fine.

There are 3 sets (as of now) available here at a slight premium:

Otherwise I hear they were delayed but will arrive eventually. I hope they weren't nudged out of the shipping container by one of 3 109Gs... :?

the Japanese figures have already been spotted at WM have they not? I don't think the S2 Japanese have but the S1 have (the green uniform ones).

Very nice figures. You'll like them Tom.

Sorry, yes, I was talking about the shipment expected by small retailers - re: delayed. WM got theirs and it seems like they sold. BCA had some left over from CC but other Etailers were expecting them last month but they didn't arrive. Hopefully soon.

My Japanese figs were bought at WM. didn't realize there was a change on these too! I didn't even find my own set, a friend did out of state. Definitely found at WM but I thought their uni's looked brown, not green... Could be my eyes though.
