Custom 1/18 Pickle Bike!!!!

Post by flyboy_fx » Fri Jul 08, 2011 9:12 am

Instead of posting it in the Customs and mods I posted it here so everyone can see what a pickle bike all done up looks like! I did make one error, the MG mount on the horizontal bar was put on facing the wrong way.... Other than that the kit was fairly easy. I did have alot of air bubbles, more than normal, but I managed to fix most/all of em with some filler and sanding! I had defective wheel and PH Gladly stood behind his work and sent out a replacement!!!! A+

Here are the pictures! The bike looks MUCH better in person because I'm still fiddling with this darn camera. :x

I will put these bikes together for people if you want or any PH kit for that matter! I will paint them in factory fresh camo (As seen here) This right here is the "Super detailed" version. I did quite a bit to it, can anyone spot the differences?

Great job !!!

You did a cloth black out head lamp, fender braces and you mounted the brake levers the correct way.

Air bubbles are a fact of life with resin kits. :?

Yea, air bubbles are butt heads. But considering I have only done a couple Resin kits so far I would not know. lol
You made an exceptional kit though! Resin kits are AMAZINGLY Fun! I sure hope I can afford the HO 229!!!!!

Yes I still make them , but the moulds are shot :?

I have 6 kits on back order patiently waiting to get made.

The kits sell for $40. With the kit you get a set of wheels for the Indy bike.

It will be about 2 weeks before I get a chance to make new moulds.

Flyboy. You really did a nice job :D :D :D

What else is included? spare wheel? side car? MG-34 mount?

There is a 1/18 BMW R75 made, its very rare, I had three, sold two of them, I wouldn't have sold them if I had known I would never be able to find another. The kit really makes the Indy bike look better, still looks like a toy to some degree with the over sized fenders and tires but its a 100% improvement over the factory bike.

Below is the 1/18 BMW R75 that I customized for the BoB its made by Kandy toys

FB, the bike and sidecar look cool. Pickel picked out some of your extra details.....I see the spring for the drivers seat and a hub for the sidecar axle. One of the details I still need to change on mine are the brake levers/handles.
The paint scheme is killer as well, nice job!!

Jnewboy's BMW R75 is impressive too. Would it be able to find more of the kits somewhere?

Pickels bike kit is definitely the way to go. Trying to find an R75 in 1/18 is very hard, there are none on ebay for any price. If anyone can find someone or some store that has them and wants to share that would be great but Im sure if you do find one for sale it will be in excess of $100 or $200 if the seller knows how rare they are. (I didn't when I sold my custom done ones for around that.)
