1/32 8 inch mobile howitzer model ( former Monogram)
I picked up this re-issue of the old Monogram kit. It's 1/32 and it doesn't appear to be real complex. It has been reissued by Revell. Revell has also released/re-issued the atomic cannon, which is also in 1/32. As soon as my local hobby shop takes delivery of the cannon I'm going to pick it up. I'm happy to get anything 1/32.

Cool, I may pick one up myself for nostalgia's sake...I remember when it was first released by Renwal, and that was in the 50's (yeah, some of us are that old
)...I don't do much modeling anymore, but they're a quick build if you don't mind a way less than perfect fit for the parts...but what I'd really like to see is a reissue of the Ontos...I think I have an unbuilt kit buried in my storage space, but it will take an archaeological style dig to find it...

I enjoy all the cold war sets. I'll take any armor or plane that's 1/32. As much as I like the WWII pieces, later armor is also good. Versions of the 8 inch saw action during the first Gulf War. Those 8 inchers were ultimately given to the Guard or our allies. Now the military doesn't build armor larger than the current 155's.

These Renwall models were the first military plastic kits that I made back in the early 1960ies. I made the 8" SP howitzer, the M42 twin-fourty SPAAG (in Vietnam aka Duster) and the USMC Ontos. They were good kits as I recall. However, the kit I really wanted was the Atomic Cannon but that was beyond the reach of my pocket money at the time. I think they also did a M47 and a "Skysweeper" AA gun.

My Dad has a T34/85 that is either Renwal or Revell. Unfortunately it is up in the foridden zone of the attic.
