USAF orders 30,000-lb bomb

The USAF has awarded Boeing a $28 million contract to deliver eight GBU-57 Massive Ordnance Penetrator (MOP) bunker-buster bombs and associated equipment. The GPS-guided MOP weighs 30,000 pounds and can penetrate 200 feet of reinforced concrete. The USAF is modifying an unknown number of B-2 Spirit stealth bombers to carry two MOPs.
