Companies will usually commission built models for their paint masters. These are most likely of that type, probably in 1/48 scale for easy shipping to the factory in China.nooker21 wrote:Are those even the 21C molds? The landing gear looks better and they have different drop tanks (which are the ones I like). AND Reluctant Rebel doesn't have the dorsal fin on the tail. Hmmm....

Re: ALL-GO! In The Pipe-Line
That's what I'm talkin' about!
Many pilots must have used the same template for girlie nose art? The "Big Nude" looks like the same girl on "Passion Wagon."
"Daddy why does your planes has naked girls, can I play with them?"
"Pilots in the great war loved women son, and no son they're not toys."

I stand corrected on my P-51D "Little Lady" pic.MZ826 wrote:They have added a few pictures up today. Looking forward to seeing the rest of them.

All of those mustangs look great!
Did anyone notice the lack of a vertical fin extension on "Reluctant Rebel"?
I am hoping that is not just the model mock-up...

The "piano keys" were the late war markings of the 8th AF's 20th Fighter Group.RAD 2112 wrote:Anybody have any background regarding the black & white stripes on the nose?[/img]

Note that the 2nd Mustang on the All-go site, Moon Mullin's "Little Lady", is wearing the earlier version of the 20th's group markings.

The "Little Lady" with the girlie is ok, but I like the later "piano keys" version better. It's unusual and cool looking.

Re: ALL-GO! In The Pipe-Line
Greetings:
The planes look great and while I agree the girlie nose art is part of history...I also agree I think All-Go is going a little over the top with it being on 3 aircraft. There are so many Mustangs they could do without the girlie nose art.
Although many of us have taught our children about this history, I don't know how acceptable this will be with parents and their children. I know these are going more toward an adult collector market, but I know from talking to my own students and students that are a bit older...there is a BIG interest in World War II right now due to the PC games and XBox stuff. I know some of them collect models as well. I just don't know how "accepting" parents would be to having their children have these models on their desk, etc.
Interested to see the Spitfires and glad to see All-Go is working up some new production. It will be interesting to see what comes of these developments.
Regards,
Corey

Re: ALL-GO! In The Pipe-Line
I think it'll be ok. Nude girls on warplanes is almost uniquely American and a part of history. These may be the only ones we get.
There's plenty of axis and allied planes that won't have them. You'll still have to buy swastikas anyways to get authentic on the German planes.
I too am looking forward to some new Spitfires. The MkVb will have to be something new and different than any of the 21stC Spitfires so far.

Re: ALL-GO! In The Pipe-Line
Speaking of Spitfires...
I think this is the one plane that could be All-Go's "Cash-cow", since there are so many variations.
I would really like to see "All-Go" issue Ray Hanna's MH434.

Re: ALL-GO! In The Pipe-Line
Agree that the Spitfire would be a great choice for AllGo to do. Lots of famous pilots, and variants. Other than the few that 21C did, only other choice is Corgi diecast. And these are relatively expensive.

agree and agree the spitfire was an excellent seller we sold 10 cases in less than 30 days. second best seller we had next to the double nothin. both of these where hard to get even for dealers.
we were lucky to be first in on the buy since they where sold to a distributor i buy alot from. wish i had kept one of each now

Re: ALL-GO! In The Pipe-Line
I wouldn't mind more Spitfires as long as the QC issues get under control and they do something about that ill-fitting canopy.

Re: ALL-GO! In The Pipe-Line
That might explain why I never got one. I remember looking at them at TRU a few years ago - and walking away.
Re: ALL-GO! In The Pipe-Line
Yeah, come and get 'em, 3x as much as the 21st spit- come and get em while they're hot- I passed on them, too
