1/18 Liberation Army Jeep

Post by plasticboy » Sat Mar 05, 2011 7:57 pm

First time purchased toy from China that it impressive me very much of the quality. This is 1/18 scale die-cast Liberation Army Jeep + 105mm recoilless, the jeep had Russian style shape which we knew that China have had military support from Russia after WWII.

Just pictures of an unmodified jeep? Thats not like you, you usually chop it up and make it 1000x better! :D

Here's one on ebay. I'd be tempted (have considered these in the past) if it weren't for the shipping cost. Could be used in Vietnam scenes, I would think.

The Chinese made a bolt by bolt copy of our 105mm Recoilless Rifle in the 50's and mounted it on a Chinese copy (modified) of the Ruskie GAZ Jeep. We replaced the 105mm RR with a 106mm RR. The main difference was a .50 cal spoting rifle mounted on the top and telescopic sights. Much more accurate than the 105mm.
We could use Chinese 105mm ammunition in our 106mm but our ammo was useless to them. The Ruskies went for a 107mm RR so they could use our ammo but we couldn't use captured stocks of their ammo.
Here's a pic of my 106mm RR mounted on a M38A1 Jeep in Korea.

Here's a pic of my 1/6 106mm RR, mounted on a 21C modified M-151.

BTW - I like the Chinese Jeep but the price is a little steep for a 1/18 Jeep from a new manufacturer due to the toxic smells from many different size rubber tires. Does this Jeep have the terrible stinky tires? Anybody know?
