Easy Model Planning A P-61 and IL-2
According to a post by DAF member, Pauck, who has been to the Nuremburg toy fair, MRC's Easy Model line of assembled plastic kits in 1:72nd scale is planning to release P-61s, Il-2s P-38s, Buffalos, Swordfish, P-47s and more FW-190s this year. While EM frequently makes such announcements but can't keep up with its deadlines, this may or may not mean that we will see all of these birds in 2011, however they should all show up by next year. Here's a picture of the page in the EM catalog showing the P-61s and P-38s:

I forgot to mention that a Mig-17 is also shown on the EM catalog page, above. More good news!

That EasyModel P-61 is going to be big
Its surprising no one else has made one in 1:72 yet. Hopefully Hobbymaster will tackle that plane sometime in the future as they tend to go all-out with their models.

Re: Easy Model Planning A P-61 and IL-2
This is cool. I hope I see them at Hobby Lobby.
They are inexpensive, and for some reason plastic models have sharper lines and detail than die-cast. I look at some of the 1/72 bombers by Corgi and some of the panel lines on them are just horrid, but I guess that's part of the die-cast process.
Mainly why I don't buy many metal planes much anymore. Plus the prices are beyond me right now. These are an inexpensive alternative with nice detail.

P-61 is going to be fantastic. I just hope that Easy Model do at least a decent job of it.
Unless it is a real dog, I think a lot of collectors will be getting this one. At least as a gap filler.
Same thing with the IL-2 Sturmovik.
