It runs Feb 13th thru the 16th so it's coming up shortly. Though it's hard to find any website forums covering any military toys, if there are any to cover that is.

I'm not sure what you mean exactly by "this", but 1/72 scale is the best it's ever been!!!

1:72 will always do good. It's a "safe" scale for manufacturers. 21st Century Toys broke new ground by providing us with the larger scales that few have been willing to risk making (chickensh*ts)

If any manufacturers decide 1:32 prebuilt plastic aircraft are a viable alternative to the giant 1:18 that we all love but took up too much space in the Walmart isle, which 1:32 did not and sold well for the most part, we might actually get some new planes. That's a big if. 1:32 armor still does well at other retail outlets and online.

It's not dead for modelers at least. I would like to see what turns up at the Nuremberg Toy Show in 1:32. Usually there's some exiting stuff like last year.

When I was a kid, toy soldiers were in the 1/32 range, Marx, Airfix, Timpo, etc. Since then I've always been attracted to that scale. It always was disappointing that vehicles, for most part back then, were rarely in scale. (I couldn't afford Britains or Dinky.) They were always much much smaller. When 1/32 armor and vehicles and planes came on the scene, I jumped in and bought virtually all of them. Now it's really starting to dry up. It's just too late to start buying 1/72 for me.....

1/18 may be on life support, but as has been said, 1/72 is the best it has ever been in diecast. Huge selection, from many different manufacturers. And the quality just gets better, and better.

1/48 is still going, and both Corgi and HM have new 1/32 releases.

So the future looks bright.

That's why you have to make your own

I am pretty disappointed with the current state of 1/32 armor, but I am making do by utilizing what is out there and making new stuff.

I too am acquiring 1/32 models, old Britains vehicles as well as Dinkys but I miss going to Walmart and TRU and purchasing 21st and FOV for a reasonable price, $14.99-$19.99. I used to get tremendous deals in the clearance aisle and at Target, Kmart and Meijers after Christmas and when they would occasionally put them on sale. Now there's only FOV with perhaps 2-3 new products a year... and at Enthusiast prices, $50-$70 a piece.

The writings been on the wall for a while, 1/32 & 1/18 is no more in regard to pre-made models. The economy will have to be much better for it to comeback I suspect.

Any news from last week's show? I am growing more concerned about this hobby. At least BBI is coming out with an F16. It sounds like one in 1/18 and do I understand correctly one in 1/32?... Please, someone provide us with some intel from the show.....
