All-go King Tiger?
All-go King Tiger?
Since it's the beginning of a new year, I was wondering if anyone has heard any rumors about All-go's 1/18 King Tiger.
Also, does anyone have any historical info on the real King Tiger #104 depicted in All-go's model?

Re the real 104
It still exists.
Look at the Wikipedia page on the King Tiger and it's the one in the first photo which comes up.
Follow the external link 'Tiger survivors' and below the picture of 104 there is another link to the story of its capture.
Hope this helps.

I'm hopeful but I can't help being a bit skeptical as well.

MAD SAM:
Thanks. If I'm not mistaken All-go's #104 has no zimmerit and the #104 in Wiki is a prototype that does have zimmerit. My guess is All-go's #104 was lost in the Battle of the Bulge.
Does anyone have any history on #104 that's the subject of All-go's model?

Re: All-go King Tiger?
If Heng Long releases their King Tiger first, I will probably get one of those and pass on All-gos, there are more accessories for the 1/16 and unless I'm way off, the price for the RC version most likely won't be much more than the 1/18 static.
As far as the paint job they are showing on the Heng Long, that can be easily fixed.
If All-go is going to release a King Tiger, they better do it soon at a reasonable price or they will miss the mark again.
Well, honestly they have'nt hit any mark yet

dragon 53 ;
The Normandy '104' has a production turret and does have zimmerit.
There is also a pre-production example in the same museum with the 'Porsche' turret which has no zimmerit.
I assumed ALL-GO were doing the Normandy ss101 104 and not the ss501 Bulge 104, as the Normandy tank had a turret number, while the Bulge tank according to Greg Waldons site (ww.ss501panzer.com) only a cross on the turret (It's the one in La Gleize being used for target practice by bazooka armed paras)
Cheers.

MAD SAM:
Thanks for clarifying that. I was thinking All-go's #104 was Battle of the Bulge King Tiger used by 82nd Airborne paratroopers to fire their bazookas----if that had been the case, I wanted #104 for my North Carolina collection as the 82nd is based in NC.
Oh well, back to the drawing board.
