I live in San Antonio Sarge. The Walmart toy mgr I talked to approached me when I asked him to get something off the top shelf. I was under the impression that the planes were sent as an assortment and no special orders were possible. He told me that managers could request items as long as sales of that item were strong. No
problem there. We have a huge military
population in town that eats this stuff up as soon as it hits the shelves. I encourage the rest of the forum to ask the toy managers in your areas about this and post your finding here.

These southern belles could care less what the store sells and even less about the customer.

I've asked them about ordering the items and got the old govt style answer "we can only sell what corporat sends us".

Matter of fact talked to dept mgr yesterday and had to wind up reporting him as his attitude was like I was really bothering him.

Tired of foolin around with Wallyworld goin back to web ordering.
I used to order all my 1/18th 21C airplanes from an outfit in FLA. called Big Boy's War Toys as they had a flat shipping rate of $4.99 and a 6 mo. layaway.

Then they up and closed shop and shut down.

I found another place that has a good selection of 21C + alot of others out of Joplin MO. called 3000 Toys, they advertise $6.95 flat shipping. Haven't ordered from them yet, waiting until they get the new stuff from 21C to compare prices with Bad Cat.

Has anybody done business with them?

No, but I pay BCA 10 bucks and I get a perfect box with no peanuts, and it damn near beats me home from work.
Worth it IMHO.

Don't worry about the southern belles
Sarge. They don't have to care about our hobby. Their job is to stand there and look pretty.

And that was my sexist
remark for the day. Yes, I know I'm a pig!

What we need to do as a group is either contact 21C and let them know about the troubles some of us are having with Wallyworld

or Get ahold of Wallyworld and find out what seems to be their major malfunction.

21c is well aware of WM's distribution problems.....not much they can do about it as that's completely under WM control.
WM doesn't seem to give a hoot....they do what they do and that's that. However, keep grumbling.....sometimes the squeeky wheel does get the oil.

I agree with Aferg.. 21st has no more control over what Walmart does as we do over controlling gas prices..

I went to my local Wally World tonight to look for the new repaints of 32x planes.. The 6-8 planes that were there a few days ago were gone.. I asked the Toy Manager if they had gotten any more in and she said No, but she could "Special" order them for me if I wanted..
Maybe this is a "new attitude" taken by Walmart to make more satisfied customers????

At a Wal Mart in my AO, I tried the "special order" trick - after tracking down someone claiming to be the toy manager for 20 minutes - and they said something on the order of "It couldn't be done..."
No real worries, though, as BBI & BCA will solve the Zero problem (at least for me) in a couple of weeks
