I'm always impressed by how good the original S1 BBi F-18 still looks, even when sitting next to the JSI F-14 (albeit an F-14 thats been de-spotted

). The two planes are seperated by over 6 years of evolution of 1:18 models and the F-18 is not without its drawbacks. The rubbery landing gear, exhaust nacelles, sticker-decal cockpit instruments are a few of my major gripes. However, while the F-14 certainly has all of the finer details we have come to expect with our models, the F-18 still holds it own.
I'll never forget when I first saw the F-18 in person at my local Hobbytown USA store back in 2004... The sheer size of the thing blew me away! IMHO, the BBI F-18 still wins out in my book as one of the most audacious 1:18 aircraft ever made. It was also the first true 1:18th scale jet fighter ever produced
