At least the shipping is free!

Post by hotrodrock » Sun Oct 17, 2010 5:25 pm

A little larger scale than we normally look at here, but these 1/6 armor vehicles are just a pleasure to look at. If only I had the bucks. I have tons (and unfortunately I mean that literally) of 1/6 figures from when I was very heavy into 1/6 figures.

That looks great. It is a kit however.

Free shipping to the lower 48 States, but $400 to me 20 miles across the border in Canada.

Same here. Though I sold off almost all the modern 1/6 figures and kept the WWII. This would be an ultimate thing to get though...wow!

Not such a great deal. OK, free shipping, but when you go straight to Modelers Paradise site, you see that their regular price is $2-300 less than the eBay price before shipping, so you are paying shipping one way or another.

Their main location is in the UK and they have a location in FL. If they happen to have the model you want in stock in FL, you save some money of shipping, or else you get socked with international shipping.

They do have some nice stuff and they will build any model for you, of course for extra money. These are kits of sheet metal. Nice stuff but sure not for any but the experienced model makers.

OK, so now I remember what I didn't like about Modelers Paradise.

I love their stuff and have bought from them without any hassles. My problem is that their payment pages are not from a secure address and you are putting your card info into the ether without any protection. Just as bad is their payment confirmation page which goes to your email address..... Not only is your CC number printed as showing the first 12 numbers with the last four numbers blocked (as opposed to most other sits showing only the last four digits with the first 12 numbers blocked) but your three digit security code is printed on the confirmation. I did not like that. Must be a Brit thing..... just annoyed me.

Anyway, shipping was $1.30 on a $130 buck order so shipping has to be a percentage of cost, which I didn't mind but they must have lost money on that.

Besides, their products are super. If you have the bucks and like 1/6 kits they should be of interest to you. Choice of products is great, metal Pz II, Pz III, PzIV, Hetzer, Jagdpanther besides the usual Panther, Tiger I , Opel Blitz besides the Taowan Sd.Kfz 222 and Krupp Protze and the Randy Killen White M3 Halftrack. Great stuff. They sell here in the states under Big-Tanks-Plant.

Sorry if this sound like a commercial but I get nuts with 1/6.
