Anyone Heard Anyhting About 21ct F-86 or Mig-15?

Post by rawjinks » Tue Sep 13, 2005 6:03 pm

I just saw that 21st century is due to release a mig and the sabre sometime this year. Anyone know anymore than that?

In the interview he said next year - and he said that was a guess.

Correct- the F-86 and Mig-15 are a go. They are still being developed at this time no positive ETA as of yet. Cool planes for sure!

Gotta have a sabre; it was my dad's crate.

Those are on the "1:18 Aircraft Must Have" list, along with the Avenger and ME-262.

The Zero was on that list as well, but I've got one coming in October :)

Hopefully the F-86 and Mig-15 will be released simultaneously - or in very short interval. I don't want to have, say, a Mig for a year with nothing to shoot it down!

I can't think of any other time. But if these two finally do show up (the MiG and Sabre), will it be the first time 21C has released two adversaries at the same time?

Last I heard they were being built along side each other. I think it is important to have them released together. It will be exciting to have 2 new planes at the same time. I hope that is the way it goes down!

BBI's zero lacks the folding wing tips that the model 21 was noted for. so all your getting is a plain ole zero with no detail. I cancelled my order and wait untill 21C comes out with theirs to see the difference. I think they rushed the zero cause everyone wants one, 8)

The folding wing tips don't really bother me. Given the high level of detail thats been seen on the previous BBI WWII aircraft, I don't think it can be said that the BBI Zero will have no detail. Rather, it will probably have alot in the form of the overall sculpting (i.e. panel lines), the moving control surfaces, cockpit detail, landing gear and the paint-job. While those are basic features considering whats been seen on some 1:18 aircraft, they are still pretty good insofar as detail is concerned!

I also think this project has been in the works for a while now. There were rumors many months ago about a potential BBI Zero, so they've had time to develop one.

No F-86 Mig-15

Sorry to hear the F-86 and Mig-15 will not be out by year end. I'm beginning to wonder if we'll see the Avenger this year also. Any intel on the torpedo plane's release?

Still Waiting

Post by Folkwulfe » Thu Sep 15, 2005 7:23 pm

The TBM is still scheduled (sic) for a December release according to Bad Cat. Guess we'll just have to wait and see. Also, Bad Cat has some great photos of the production BBI Zero if you haven't seen them yet. Check out the "Hot Shots" area. Can't say there's a lack of detail there!
