Did anyone ever make a 1:18 scale duck?

Post by Lance Quazar » Mon Aug 09, 2010 5:41 pm

This pic was posted over at rebelscum in a thread discussing last year's Indiana Jones revival hoax.

This picture wasn't part of the original "hoax" and I have no idea its origins, but it is similar in nature - trying to pass off something as a Hasbro Indy figure display.

It does appear to depict a 1:18 scale duck, which I didn't think anyone had ever actually made.

It looks too good to be a custom job, but you never know.

Thoughts??

If I remember the movie, the vehicles were not GPA's. During WW2, after we sent some GPA's to Russia as Lend Lease, the Russians copied the GPA and while there was slight differences, it was the Russian GPA copies that were used in the story. The Ruskie vehicles were called GAZ 46.

The American GPA, also called a "Seep" was made by Ford.

Nobody makes a "Seep" in 1/18. It must be a custom built based on a Jeep, like the "real" GPA or GAZ or whatever. Pic is so poor, it might even be a 1/6. There is a 1/6 "Seep" made by a small vehicle etailer.

It's got the 3.75" Indy figures in it, so it's 1:18-ish.

It's simple enough looking that I think it could easily be a custom based on a PTE Mutt or something.

Now Hasbro, make us some Head Sculpt & Endor Uniform variations! The new Rebel Fleet Trooper gets the JJ Seal of Approval Though!
