Anyone have the FOV Summer '44 Spitfire Mk.IX(D-Day Stripes)
Would any of you recommend one, to someone who doesn't own a Spitfire yet?
I like the added bombs, since it fits with my British fighter-bomber fling at the moment.
but is it worth the cost of 25$ ish. Is there something better on the market, really don't want a Corgi, nor the Dragon Mk.V in D-Day markings. Don't have any FOV in 1/72, as nothing has really grasped me yet..the 4500 has come close..and some of the figure sets, the Panzergrenadiers and the one with German POWs and allied infantry, but like i said not enough to trade or buy them yet.

IMHO, I wouldn't mess with the FOV line of A/C. They aren't very accurate and tend to be over weathered. if you want a really nice 1/72 Spitfire, I would look into Gemini Aces line. They produce one of the best Spitfires in that scale.

While the FOV armour is pretty good, their aircraft are not.I have the 1/32 Spitfires,Me 109's and P-51's.Also one of the P-39's.Probably the best of the 1/32 aircraft, and a good thing as nobody else offers a 1/32 P-39.
Not to bash FOV, but I wouldn't waste the money,or display space with their aircraft.
I don't collect the 1/72 single engined fighters, but from browsing the forums,I understand the Gemini Aces, and Dragon models are very good. And Corgi still have a pretty loyal following, however, they seem to have good models, and bad models.

Dont wanna spread the disease to the other quality planes in your collection then
So the advice is to avoid 1/72 fov planes then?
Been looking at fov zeros, they just as bad?
I've got 2 witty zeros but looking for more with optional landing gears.
Dragon and Corgi ones both have their issues, marushin is $ and not sure about ixo, any recommendations or advice for zeros?
Or should I wait and hope maybe HM or Skymax would make them in the future
No question the FOV 1/32 Spitfires are not on par with Corgi, etc., but they also cost considerably less so you sort of get what you pay for.snake wrote:While the FOV armour is pretty good, their aircraft are not.I have the 1/32 Spitfires,Me 109's and P-51's.Also one of the P-39's.Probably the best of the 1/32 aircraft, and a good thing as nobody else offers a 1/32 P-39.

I do, however, really like their 1/32 P-39, I have both of them and they are, IMO, considerably more detailed than their Spitfires!

I like the A6M5s by MRC and A6M2 and IIRC a A6M3 by Dragon.gouchy wrote:Panzer_M wrote:yea I try to avoid FOV like a 1$ hooker with Super Burning when pee Gonorrhea![]()
