Couldn't go for something new like the 234/1 or 234/4..just like their Panzer IVs.

Least their Flaktracks were original.

still overpriced for the QC of the tooling IMO.

Maybe it's just me, but I see this as an obvious no brainer to continue on with all the different variants. Surely no different than what Hobby Master no doubt will do too. Looks good.

I am just saying. They COULD have done Panzer IVs and schemes not done by Dragon who's are better and crisper and cheaper. Like for example they could have done Pz IV C, D,E, H and Js..and for PSW they could have done Sdkfz.222/223/260 and 231/232 and 233(Which would be nice since IXO's Panzer series is hard to get here in the states)

Well they are just starting a brand new line.

And I think that their Wirblewind,and Ostwind look pretty good.

But I am not really an armour guy,and certainly not in 1/72.

yea the muzzle brakes on the Pz IV F2/G was the first deal killer for me, than it was the overall softness of the detail(due to be metal vs plastic)

plus several of the F2/Gs are also in Dragon's line of prebuilts.

And those are 19.00-24.00 average and although plastic, or because they are plastic and based on scale MODELS and not toys the detail and paint and overall quality is much better. Really IMO Hobbymaster is one of the few companies that has done well in the medium of metal. Corgi is ok, depending on the model..but HM is prob the best and worth the price..which is also less than Panzerstahl..I bet the PS 234 will be 30$ while the HM Puma is avg 22-25 and the 234/3 is looking to be 22.

The only thing I can give credit to PS for on the 234/3(which is a really bad tooling for the pre-production) is the fact they picked the 1.Pz Div for the unit...which would be in reality the only 234/3 issued to 1.Pz in Dec.1944 according to german records.

And I think the only other Panzer IVs out on the market are IXOs and they are equal in the quality of crap and having them shipped in from Europe plus the 20-25(seen 37-40 on eBay) price tag makes them that much more undesirable IMO.

and the ausf.G of IXO is just as bad, which is strange cause they do some good 1/72 stuff in the Panzerline, like the Opel Maultier, Sdkfz.250/9 and the new Bergepanther..but can make a decent StuG III/IV or Panzer IV.

I am just hoping for MRCs Panzer IVs to come out or Dragon to release kit # 7279, their proposed PzKpfw.IV ausf.H(which has been in the Catalog since at least 2008

, before any glimpse of the PzKpfw.IV F and F2(G) came about that we have)

Although on July 27th we do finally get Dragon's long promised Brumbär Mid(although without zimm.) so I guess the Cogs are starting to turn at Dragon's 1/72 line(s) again.

For the moment the only good, and it's a really option, are the OOP Revell Germany 1/72 ausf.H and ausf.J kits. esp with Dragon DS tracks added.

but these change hands now at a min of at least 25 USD(plus Ship), one can hope Revell decides to re-release them soon like with the Pz III M kit which should bring the price down to 16-20, and give model builders access to a key missing part of the braille scale line up of german armour.

I am prob going to (have) spend something like 28 Euro, to have one of the revell kits.,,found a J in Germany and I am hoping to find a H in someone's stash they might want to trade/sell on Missing Lynx's selling/Buying forum.

Panzerstahl has switched to plastic for their SdKfz 234 variants so should include more detail than their metal tanks.

There are two additional sources for 1:72nd scale Panzer MK IVs---both rather dated, of course. Here is a picture showing, from left to right, a CDC Armour model dating back about 14 years and a repainted Matchbox model, which is slightly more recent. I wouldn't pay anything like that for a CDC PZ IV but if you take the trouble to fix an old one up, it's not that bad a model. Still, Dragon wins hands down.

IF the final product looks good I may pick up one of the 234/2 or /3 to see how good they are(Kinda disappointed with HM's 234/3 lack of detail), but they have trumped Hobby Master with a announced 234/1 for Oct.10.

I don't know how they compare to anyone elses versions of these, (if they even exist as pre-built in this scale) but I recently got both thru an ebay seller and overall I'm very happy with them. One thing I really like about these is the diecast metal content on them which gives them a nice hefty feel, even the gun tubs are metal, which I think is a very nice touch, and I'm not sure anyone else even makes one with a diecast gun tub.

Only Matchbox IIRC in 1/72..prob FOV soon since they do tend to downsize their 1/32 vs new stuff..although the B-N 4500 was a surprise.
