I've been looking for a 1/48th model of my aircraft, the mighty Lockheed P-3C Orion, for years. The only one made was a vac model by Combat Models that's been OOP for decades.
I was looking at cars on Craigslist, and found a P-3 Orion model listing. I thought it was one of the small, common, 1/72 models or 1/80 Lockheed displays, but it turned out to be a 1/48th presentation model that was made for Command Patrol Wings Pacific (CPWP) to be displayed on their quarterdeck.
Turns out the seller was a former CPWP Command Master Chief, and they gave him the plane as he was retiring at the same time NAS Moffet Field was being closed down. His wife had been whining that the plane was way too big for their house, and she made him sell it. The price... a mere $70!
So, thanks to Craigslist, I now have a gorgeous and huge P-3C flying above my living room. Thanks CL!

Colonel "Madman" Maddox: Let me hear your guns!
Captain Wild Bill Kelso: My what?
Colonel "Madman" Maddox: Your guns! Ack, ack, ack, ack, ack!
Captain Wild Bill Kelso: [fires his airplane's guns] AHHHH!
