Admiral 262 tail decals?

Post by Barbarian333 » Fri Jun 18, 2010 4:10 pm

I'm sure this has been covered here before somewhere but i can't find it.
I have both Admiral 262's I have a few sets of the 21st decals. I have Squadron Signal books. I've been looking all over the net for pics of actual aircraft. Anybody know which swas'es are the most historically correct for white 7 and white 8 ? Solid white, solid black, black with white boarder, or broken black swas? Pretty sure broken black swas is for the 21st red 10 . My white 7 would look cool with the solid white, but not sure if it would be historically correct. Not sure at all what the correct decal is for the zebra tailed white 8. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanx

It is black with white border in the museum. I have seen no white border on models. And both can be accurate all things considered.

Well, here's what I did- white 8 came with a narrower black/white border decal- (narrrower than the Vex). White 7 got the simple white border one (Vex) and it does look appropriate with the other emblems. I did the red 10 with the broken black one. Yellow 7 has the standard black/white border one (vex).

Wow, your white 8 came with decals ? When you say the simple white border for your white 7, do you mean the solid white vex swas. or the black with white border vex swas? Thanx for the response guys.
Just put my CNA's on my p-40 and they came out really good. Now i gotta get my German aircraft correct.

I don't remember where I got the white 8, but it did come with a set of black/white border decals- skinnier and a little taller than the Vex sets through BCA. I've found no use for the solid white decals, but I did use the white bordered/clear decals for the white 7

I just realized that I left out a certain detail. I used the white border/clear swastika off the 18th Stuka sheet for the gray white 7 262, not the solid white one on the 262 sheet.

I got a few of those stuka sheets too . Those will look good with the ghost white iron crosses.

The hakenkreuzes on BCToys site for the 262 were not made by Vex Decals...they were being supplied with the bird from the factory.....be it Admiral or 21st.... TJJ
