SkyWorks Bell X-1

Post by tom@skyworkstoys » Thu Jun 03, 2010 9:03 pm

SkyWorks is proud to announce the availability of a fully built, painted, and corrected 1/18th scale Bell X-1. This is the plane Chuck Yeager broke the sound barrier in!

SkyWorks takes a Pegasus Hobbies 1/18th scale model, professionally builds it, makes a number of corrections on the plane to bring it to the original specifications, and then custom paints it a bright orange just like Chuck's plane!

This fantastic model is available exclusively at the Military Toy Shop (www.militarytoyshop.com). Click on the 1/18th model selection on the left, choose the SkyWorks tab, and then choose the Custom Paint Scheme tab. This will take you to the page where this model is now available.

If you are a 1/18th collector, this historic plane is a must have!

Please feel free to post any questions about this model.

That is a very nice job on the X-1.

And at $189,not a bad deal.Not cheap,but definitely a reasonable price.

I forgot to mention that all of the modifications that were done to the plane, like the wings, and the decals, were based on the actual aircraft. SkyWorks had several detailed photos of the original plane and we modified the original model to the exact specs in the photos.

Very Nice Work.
As always Skyworks stuff looks good, however I think I'll get the kit and try it myself for the price difference...
