What We've Got
What We've Got
We talk a lot about what we never got so I figured it was time for a little thanksgiving. Put aside paint scheme and manufacturers and whether they could have been done better, and just think about if you had to choose one piece to be produced, and your choices are what has already been released. This is WWII, and I tried to think of some iconic vehicles, but feel free to write in your choice. Remember - this would be the only thing in your collection.
I went with the Avenger because it is just so impressive and I favor WWII aircraft. There are other planes I like more, such as the P-47 and Spitfire, but from a model stand point they aren't even in the Avengers league.
"What a magnificent aeroplane! They could have all their Spitfires and Mustangs!"

I picked the Tiger since I'm 99% armor/ground vehicles. If the SdKfz 251 had been listed it definitely would have been my top choice as it's so open to customizing all the different variants.

I guess I should have had an "Other" for those who wanted to write in. The 21C US halftrack is by far my favorite ground piece because of all the detail and features but I'd imagine it couldn't stand alone on a shelf like a Sherman or Tiger or Avenger can.

If only one item could be made, I would want it to be a P-51 simply because its the classic American fighterplane from WWII and I'm an aviation fan
In terms of this discussion topic, historically, we can look at the early days of 21c and the selection they gave us during the first wave of the Xtreme Detail line. They had one shot to make or break the line and thus gave us something that was fairly representative in terms of the subject matter covered: P-51, ME-109, Sherman, Panther, Jeep, Kubelwagen and the standard figures. There were no really unique or odd vehicles or aircraft, simply items that had the best chance for mass appeal.

Poll
Picked the Panzer IV as a ground vehicle but the Avenger gets my vote for a plane.

Sounds like 21C had a good business plan with 1:18 at least to start.tmanthegreat wrote:

Had to pick the Fork Tailed Devil P-38. Though the Avenger and Spitfire are close 2nds.
