This is from Molten Monkey:
http://generalsjoes.com/
Scroll almost to the bottom. It looks like they are planning a couple of jets, one looks like a Harrier and there is a helo that looks pretty close to a Helix/Skycrane mix.

These have potential if they come to fruition. The birds appear to be made up, but an imaginary 1:18 plane is better than none!

Not all of the, the Javelin they have planned is a Harrier!
Shin's wishlist for 1/18 and 1/32 with retractable landing gear and more:

F-14 Tomcat, F-8 Crusader, A-4 Skyhawk, F-105 Thunderchief, A-6 Intruder, F-15C, F-15E Strike Eagle

Definitely has a harrier look to it but is not a harrier, hence the name Javelin. Its sort of a stretched skinnier harrier looking bird.

The javelin/harrier looks real nice, but i have to see better images of the second jet. I think it might be too much for me, just too over the top. my favorite 2 over the top joe vehicles were the rattler and night raven but they are still grounded to real planes. this does not seem to be the case with their virus fighter.

The Javelin looks pretty sharp, but I'd prefer a real Harrier.
We still need more new 1/18 aircraft!

Here is the actual link to the article I think this should have been linked not the General Joes home page some one might want to edit that.

http://generalsjoes.com/2010/04/30/intr ... -sk-omega/

I have a feeling this wont actually launch since they have nothing to show but drawings and pictures. I am graphic designer and I could produce what they have on show in a week maybe less. these guys have no prototypes, or anything technical. having worked with a toy company, the prototyping and the back and fourth to china takes forever, and i have been involved with the back and fourth for three factories and they are real low tech it is amazing how behind they are.

in reality i think Pickel has more to show for in legitimacy then these guys. In my honest opinion these guys are selling a second rate concept that feels more like a pipe dream. I hope they prove me wrong but even the name is kind of lame and I think big companies (retailers) will have a hard time taking them seriously.

If you read more about them, the guy who is behind this line was on one of the main players in developing GI Joe back in '85 and '86. Based on this and the fact they debuted their line at Joecon, I have a feeling Hasbro may have a hand in this.

Not to start a debate, but i very seriously doubt hasbro is involved. Hasbro is not going to create competition for the Gi Joe Brand. You would be splitting your own market and, paying twice the payroll (IE new and seperate marketing and staff) that is not profitable. Also worth noting JoeCon is run and owned by Fun Publications, Inc. they are a licensee and outside of that license have no connection to hasbro, anyone can show up who pays Fun Publications money to do so.

Granted more merit is lent to the guy having been with hasbro (i wasn't impressed enough by the pics to sit down read the article), i still have doubts and the physical release of anything from what he was showing is still more than a year away.

I say a year or more because Hasbro is an organized toy pumping machine and they claim from start to finish it takes about 18 months to get a toy into consumers hands and this guy is still concepting. I work with the makers of khet (khet.com) and Hasbros numbers sound spot on to me.

ROCK ON!!

I hope they do make something, for the figs, if nothing else. The imaginary planes sort of chap my a$$, though. If they're going to go to all this trouble, why of why can't they make a real vehicle? I know the GI Joe line is aimed at kids, and kids want products that "look cool," but there are modern weapons that fit that bill. For instance, as much as I'm not a fan of the F-35 in real life (don't get me started ...), a realistic F-35B has lots of moving parts to play with, looks cool and ... oh well ...

True enough, I'm sure, but in the case of the F-35, LockMart should give the license away, just to try to counteract the bad press they get from the money-toilet the Lightning II has become ...

I'm sure this is right ... but there ARE some modern items that are "techie" looking enough to appeal to kids while being reasonably accurate.

I wonder how much licensing fees can be for a plane? I suspect that is why the harrier looking jet is not called the harrier. The old Joe line made a few similar looking planes to actual planes but never called them by their actual names.
