That's for me to know and for you to find out.....

Seriously, I believe it is in the "action figure" isle on top of everything else, on top of the isle.. Good luck in getting it.. :D
That is, of course, if someone hasn't already snagged it, but I don't think they have..

Ok, thanks again. I've never seen a panzer IV 1/18 in a store and was wondering when they might reach Oklahoma. I wanted to wait until the side skirted ones came out, looking forward to it!

Still chasing skirts

Post by Plastic Spastic » Tue Aug 23, 2005 6:13 pm

Thanks for the tip, I checked and they still had that one, but it is the first version packaged with the rails for the side skirt armor...but no skirt armor. The turret has the extra armor panels but the hull sides do not. I saw the promotional pics of the 1/18 Panzer IV months ago, has anyone seen the Panzer IV with side skirts anywhere? Was this just a tease, something not yet released? I thought about buying it and making my own armor panels, since the framework to hold the panels is already there, but then again, I'd rather get all $40 worth of the tank and not have to finish their work for them.

Nights in Armor

Post by Plastic Spastic » Wed Aug 24, 2005 7:23 am

Hworth, you did nothing wrong, I'm very grateful for the tip. I tried to educate my dumb ass on 21st century Panzers last night by digging through the web for an hour. It appears as though the only Panzer IV to be released with side armor is a Eurpoean exclusive, but soemone said that they will be released here this fall, which makes me wonder again if anyone knows more about these new releases showing up. I guess at this point, buying that one and scratchbuilding the plates is looking like the simplest soultuion to get the item and be done with it.

just checked a local wm and found to my surprise that the planes were on sale at 28.93.

better yet, when i had the clerk use the mechanical lift to sort through the planes on the top shelf he found a flying tiger p-40, which i bought, along with a cobra snake helicopter.

the store also had some beat up p-47 and fws, but even at that price i wasn't going to buy 4 fws for the contest. hmmn, maybe i'll check back in a few weeks?

also, i saw a 1:6 scale kubelwagen with a box so badly beat up it looked as if the vehicle hit a land mine. good old wm.

I've found that the Humvees have different figure pack-ins. Most I've seen with the special forces and CIA guy, but a few have the CIA and Afghani soldiers. Cool. Too bad I already have 5 Humvees

Ok, I must of missed something here, but I have been seeing references to the Winter Panther at WM. How many of you have seen the Winter Panther at WM????? If this is the case, that is a new sighting, or I am blind on the board. Damn it, I want a couple!

Panther at WM

Post by digger » Fri Aug 26, 2005 4:58 am

I have not seen any confirmed sightings of any Panther at WM....and I'm not scrolling through 12 pages of recon. If they did show up that'd be great, but I don't think they have.

Aside, when you get back Ski I have at least one extra MIB that I will send your way at a special veteran's discount.

Thanks digger. The Winter Panther was mentioned in this thread:

viewtopic.php?t=2431

I also caught it somewhere else. Here is one with a new paint job on E-Bay. It might be a WM piece:

Or is it an On-line tank? I dunno...............
