Awesome vehicle. The only MBT that also carries infantrymen (only four I think... the IDF has always been a little fuzzy on how many infantrymen it can carry), which can come in handy.

Doubt we would ever see a Merk in 1/18, but with enough time and effort you might be able to scratch build one.

chap mei made one. Hull was about 1/21 scale and turret was about 1/19 scale.....similar to what they did with the recent T-80.

There are 1/25 paper models of a merkava that you can scale up and use as templates for making a plastic version.

Doubtful we'll see a 1/18 one but a 1/16 is feasible.

All the MBT's have the same basic family of electronic targeting and landscape imaging.

Quite a few, like the Merk and Abrams also have the CBR protection where they can operate on any battlefield.

I always thought it funny that these MBT's can be running around a radioactive battlefield where everybody else is fried, diced and par laded. Oh, the horror.
