Finally saw the FOV Micro Military Line
Oh, BTW, I stand corrected on the height and width, it is closer to the Matchbox one as far as this goes, When I first got it I thought it was a little small, so I immediately turned it upside down and compared hull and track length. I really didn't compare height which I admit is really close to the Matchbox.
Thanks for the pics, especially the FOV package with swapped out Sherman. How is the mine roller attached to the fake Sherman? How is the Sherman attached to the plastic base?
Yea, the height and width of the Matchbox Sherman and FOV Sherman are almost identical. The main difference being the Matchbox Sherman having slightly longer and wider tracks, but the tank itself it almost right on so would say it's mostly consistant with 1:72. 1:87 scale is more like the Tiger tanks Corgi uses, a noticeable difference from 1:72.

Yeah, looking at it again after the pics you posted, I noticed that the size is closer to the matchbox tanks than I gave it credit for earlier. As far as the roller on the corgi tank, I didn't open the package as I am sending it as is to Linda from Panache Place. I don't want to mess with it. If someone in Hong Kong is pulling a fast one, I want her to know. From what I can see in through the plastic, the roller is just stuck on the outside of the front gear wheel on the Corgi. There is no hole on the corgi tank for the thing to fit into. The front tabs are sort of crushed back out of the way and the tabs on the side are just stuck into the hollow in the front gear wheel pushing the side bars out a bit. (I hope that makes sense. Hopefully it was a return situation and not done like that at the factory. Like I said earlier I saw LOTS of matchbox packaging with Corgi tanks in them over the last 2 years or so, so I am maybe a little cynical when I see it with another manufacturer. I am going to go to the other Target tomorrow and pick up the P51 Mustang in the FOV Hurricane packaging if it is still there. I am sending them both to Panache Place for investigation. Good news is that Linda seemed very concerned and answered my email right away. She seems to want to get to the bottom of this asap too.
I went to the Target in Lynnwood WA. today to get the Matchbox Plane that was in the FOV packaging. All the planes were gone. either someone bought it or they pulled it off the shelf. I hape it was the latter and someone didn't get ripped. But I got another one. I was at Super Wal Mart in Marysville, WA last night and was checking out the 21C stuff for anything new and I saw a NEW RAY King Tiger Packaged in the 21C King Tiger Box. WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON?
Either these companies all buy xtras from each other and package them as their own and try to slip them in with the rest of their products or there is an epidemic if people buying, swapping and returning product in my area. Has anyone else noticed this?? It really pisses me off when I see it happening, and I keep seeing stuff like this all over the place.
GRRRRRRRR.......

Todd, just bought the Aunt Jemima Shermie today at the Targets on Military Drive between Lackland and I35. They also had the Abrams and the nice-looking Churchill. Sadly, no T72, KT or Tiger I.DocTodd wrote:Where are you guys finding this FOV Micro Line? I know of no retailers in the Central Texas area. Online is the only place I have seen them.

Todd, just picked up the FOV T72 at the Balcones Crossroads Super Target near I410/I10/I35 north of San Antonio. They had a ton of Mine-roller Shermans and a couple of Abrams. No Stuka, just Hurricanes.DocTodd wrote:Where are you guys finding this FOV Micro Line? I know of no retailers in the Central Texas area. Online is the only place I have seen them.

And FWIW, I stopped by Dibbles Hobby Shop in Balcones; they had both Dragon 1/72nd Abrams and FOV Abrams (at $13.00!!!! vs. $7.99 at Target) and in doing so I did an in-box comparison:
the FOV Abrams looked a rat-hair larger - and MUCH better built/detailed - than the Dragon Abrams. Of course the Dragon paintjob looked nicer, but the FOV Abrams is - IMHO - the better made of the two diecasts to choose from and paint is easiliy fixed.
