I'd be interested in one for the forthcoming F-14 as it is so big will need to be able to put smaller (1/72 scale ) stuff beneath it on a shelf and I'm still leary about hanging it from fishing wire like my F16 and F18.

This is a new stand I am working on. My goal is to develop a stand that will work with the F18, F14, F15 and future aircraft. With all the different gear and armament configurations I think this might be a solution. Right now I am testing the durability of three different types of glue. I am also working on getting the pieces laser cut. I have a couple samples coming soon and will post those.
For the curious the supports are held in place by 3M clear removable mounting squares. I attempted gluing the clear rubber buttons, but the glue melted them. Super glue gave the acrylic a frost appearance around the button, so until a better solution comes up the 3M squares are the best option.
What do you think?

I have one of the F-16 stands on the way.
I kind of like the look of the curved support, but I think that this design will give more support.
Whatever the design, the stand must be strong and stable.
Would be a real disaster to have an F-16 or F-18 fall off.
Keep the ideas coming pizza guy.Your work is greatly appreciated.

Board member YT sent these pics to me proudly displaying the F18 stand I made to test the support placement.

I had a board member ask if the stands would support helicopters. Board member CW4USARMY sent me some pics. Thank You.
I am hoping Santa is nice enough to drop a F-14 off at my house. If he is then I will get one made for it as well. If not I would need to find a board member that would be kind enough to help me out.

pizzaguy,
I think I saw some of your stands on Ebay. I'm interested in some for 1/18 P51, BF109, Zeros, and Corsairs. Does the same stand fit all these? Also, my shelfs will only accomodate about an 8" height for the stand. I think on Ebay you were saying they were about 10" high? Is that correct? Can you adjust the height on them for a special order or 6 or so and how much would it cost?
Thanks,
Phil

Just got one of pizzaguys F-16 stands.
Turned out really nice, and allows you to display the plane "in flight".
Very happy that someone is able to make stands for these 1/18 models, and this guy is the "real deal"
This is the second one he has done for me.
The first one is the "generic" 1/18 and works on most models.
Just need a BBI F-18 specific one now.
Thanks PizzaGuy!
