1/18 KDF wagen "army beetle"

Post by bananapirate » Wed Dec 23, 2009 1:03 pm

Just a fun little custom. Found a maisto beetle at a thrift shop for super cheap and it's the right body style (split window)

I used tamiya gunship grey and it matches my minichamps kubelwagen almost perfectly.

Pretty sweet but you need to ditch the hub caps if you can.
Kirk Douglas : Mine hit the ground first
John Wayne : Mine was taller

That's cool. Are these 1:18th Maisto Beetles still in production?

Pretty sure they are, and if not they churned out thousands of them anyways

Thanks, I'll have to look around for one. With the lack of 1:18th armor these days this VW look good in the collection.

* Thanks "bp" ! ... Yep , a resin mold set from an XD one , from just using the spare off it.

.......... yours is really nice too ! ... I like the dark panzer grey. I prefer Humbrol Tank Grey though. I'll have to get me another one an paint it grey.
